Job Title: Operations Officer (Scientific & Technical Services)

Location: Umuahia, Abia

Responsibilities
Prospective applicants should note the following:

• This is a full-time position based in our facilities in Umuahia, Abia State. Successful applicants will be expected to relocate to Umuahia.
• The individual will have a background in the Physical, Natural or Engineering Sciences and will be expected to meet the following responsibilities:
• Acts as a field application scientist.
• Coordinate and execute assigned research projects.
• Design and oversee laboratory experiments on a routine basis.
• Lead research efforts to complete projects within allotted timelines and budgets.
• Develop and enforce research policies and procedures.
• Address project issues and escalate complex issues to management.
• Perform day-to-day management of project teams and address any team issues promptly.
• Act as primary contact for scientific project communications.
• Document and report project progress, status, and issues if any to client on regular basis.
• Prepare project documentation and research reports for management review.
• Work with management to prepare project plans, budgets and schedules.
• Support manufacturing and industrial activities

Job Requirements

• A Degree in Laboratory Science, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields.
• Ability to provide manufacturing and industrial operations with suitable.analytical support.
• Ability to develop appropriate assays to support analytical work.
• Ability to conduct team meetings to discuss project status and issues.
• Monitor project progress regularly and report the same to management and students.
• Demonstrable ability to deliver research projects and execute managerial responsibilities and duties.

Job Title: Process Engineer

Responsibilities

• Supporting routine industrial operations.
• Designing and testing process upgrades and new process systems.
• Ensuring processes comply with safety and quality standards.
• Performing process simulations and troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND in Chemical, Petrochemical, Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering sciences.
• At least 5 years relevant work experience.
• Relocation is required for persons living outside Umuahia.
• Ability to conduct research to develop new and improved processes for manufacturing.
• Designing and planning equipment layout.
• Conducting tests and monitoring the process performance throughout production.
• Candidate must have ability to troubleshoot problems associated with manufacturing processes.
• Candidate must be able to evaluate processes and equipment to ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
• Ability to draft process ideas to reduce costs and improve production rates.

Job Title: Agronomist / Crop Scientist

Location: Umuahia, Abia

Job Summary

• We operate an automated rice mill in addition to other food process operations.
• We are seeking an agronomist / crop scientist to work with our partners and associates on the procurement and development of improved varieties of rice (and cassava).
• The ideal candidate will be expected to fully reside in Umuahia and work in our development facilities on the improvement of cultivars for rice and cassava as well as the processing of those produce lines into shelf-stable products.
• Candidates will be expected to have demonstrated ability to drive developments in a lab into living products that can help feed Nigerians. Qualified candidates who thrive on innovation will find this to be a very engaging position.
• We intend to hire two crop scientists to add to the growing team.

Job Description

• We are looking to hire an administrative and program assistants to support our expanding operations. We are specifically seeking motivated experienced administrative assistants who can support our office operations. These candidates will be expected to provide operational and clerical support as needed.

Responsibilities

• This role will support the management team by drafting documents, responding to daily operational tasks, initiating and responding to phone calls, written inquiries, emails and other communication from our customers and associates.
• The Administrative Assistant will be expected to work across teams to provide operational support as and when needed.
• The candidate will be based in our head office in Umuahia, Abia State. Candidates MUST be ready to relocate if necessary.
• Successful candidates will be expected to have prior experience working as an administrative assistant, sales executive, customer service agent, telemarketer, field sales agent, or similar client-facing position.
