Job Title: Payment Operations Manager

Location: Lagos

Description

  • The Payments Operations Manager will play a critical role in ensuring smooth and efficient payment operations , managing relationships with financial institutions, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payment systems, a deep understanding of the financial landscape in Africa, and the ability to drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations & set up mechanisms/processes to monitor payment success rates 24/7 across banks, partners, merchants and improve the same through operational excellence.
  • Monitor and manage payment processing systems to ensure optimal performance, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payment operations, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all processes.
  • Partner with product, and engineering to implement new payment products, expand capabilities and expand our functionalities across borders
  • Identify and manage relationships with financial institutions, payment processors, and other key vendors/partners, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Negotiate contracts with payment processors and other service providers to ensure favorable terms and conditions for Duplo as we expand to other geographies and improve our products.
  • Ensure all payment operations comply with relevant regulatory requirements, including AML/KYC, data protection, and other financial regulations.
  • Work closely with the compliance team to monitor and mitigate risks associated with payment processing, including fraud prevention and detection.
  • Conduct regular audits of payment processes and systems to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Analyze payment data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to optimize payment processing costs, improve transaction speed, and enhance overall customer experience.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in payment operations, financial services, fintech, or a related industry
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Extensive experience with payment processing systems, gateways, and related technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of AML/KYC, data protection, and financial regulations related to payment processing.
  • Strong understanding of payment routing, settlement processes, and reconciliation.
  • Experience integrating payment systems with banks, processors, and third-party services.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and functions.
  • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Job Title: Senior Product Manager, Software

  • Define the product strategy for Duplo’s SaaS products and build an effective roadmap.
  • Contribute to the product vision together with the Chief Product Officer.

  • Strong knowledge of UI/UX

Responsibilities

  • Assume direct accountability for sales growth and performance on Duplo’s products –  payments, expense management and vendor management solutions
  • Work with the Vice President of Sales to recommend, develop, and implement new and creative approaches to drive recurring revenue across Duplo’s product offerings
  • Collaborate with Finance, Product Management, and Marketing on messaging, pricing strategies, and business models to achieve revenue goals
  • Collaborate with Marketing for demand generation, inbound and outbound, and other marketing programs to drive high conversion rates and efficient customer acquisition.
  • Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities
  • Develop and analyze sales reports and performance metrics to assess the effectiveness of sales strategies; utilizing data-driven insights to make informed decisions and continually improve sales processes.
  • Recommend product positioning and pricing strategy to produce the highest possible long-term market share
  • Participate in high-level sales presentations and negotiations with enterprise clients.
  • Identify and establish relationships with potential merchants and suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements; ensuring favorable terms, pricing  and SLAs
  • Structure, price, negotiate and execute large channel partnerships and other agreements
  • Establish, nurture, and expand the partner relationship to drive increased preference for Duplo’s products and solutions
  • Drive engagement and adoption by partners to scale business growth
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the enterprise B2B payments sector. Utilize market insights to refine the sales strategy and identify potential business partnerships.

Requirements

  • At least 8 – 10 years experience in Saas B2B sales, payments, fintech, corporate banking is required
  • Proven track record of selling to enterprise customers
  • 5+ Years of experience structuring, pricing, and negotiating large-scale partnerships
  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding established goals for the business and for partners
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to make decisions in a changing environment, anticipate future needs and drive results.
  • Strong sense of ownership and determination to get things done.
  • Exceptional communicator (written and oral) with strong interpersonal skills

  • We’re hiring a Treasury Manager to join our growing team in managing and optimizing our customers’ international financial transactions.

  • Minimum of 5 years work experience with foreign exchange in a Commercial/Investment Bank or non-bank financial institution (Fintech, or BDC).
  • Accounting-related certification is an added advantage.
  • Experience using online banking platforms, treasury systems, and accounting systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of banking regulations, compliance, and payment systems.
  • Strong understanding of treasury finance and accounting principles.
