Job Title: Chief Accountant

Job Brief

  • We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Chief Accountant to lead critical financial operations within our Finance and Accounts department.
  • The Chief Accountant will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of financial management across the company.
  • this position, you will utilize SAGE 300 ERP to streamline accounting transactions and contribute to the company’s strategic financial goals, while focusing on operational financial tasks, compliance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations:

  • Serve as the engine room of the Finance and Accounts department, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
  • Oversee the processing of sales, purchases, and general ledger entries for the company and its subsidiaries.
  • Review payments and monthly bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Prepare and support monthly and quarterly management reporting for leadership teams and other stakeholders.
  • Provide meaningful financial insights and analyses to support decision-making processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and ensure diligent budgetary control for allocated cost areas.
  • Supervise the implementation of budgetary mechanisms to proactively identify and manage budget/ performance variances by the business sectors
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records

Audit and Compliance:

  • Support the Finance Manager in processing year-end requirements and preparing statutory audit files to deliver clean audit reports.
  • To protect the Company’s interest by ensuring that relevant statutory and regulatory reports/returns regarding the Company’s financial affairs are generated on a timely basis. e.g., statutory returns, including Tax, Pension & VAT returns.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental policies and financial regulations.

Cash Flow and Receivables Management:

  • Ensure timely issuance of invoices and effective debt follow-up to meet cash management requirements.
  • Manage contract, and purchase order processes, collaborating effectively with the legal team and other departments.

System and Process Optimization:

  • Maximize the functionality of SAGE 300 ERP to enhance financial reporting and transaction management.
  • Contribute to the preparation and implementation of policies, procedures, and controls to strengthen financial operations.
  • Periodically review key Company Finance activity and performance reports and take appropriate action to ensure the Company’s business objectives are achieved.

Support and Collaboration:

  • Respond promptly and efficiently to finance-related queries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise
  • Provide absence cover for the Finance Manager as required.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all other responsibilities as requested by the Finance Manager.
  • Maintain a proactive and collaborative relationship with other departments to achieve organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field, master’s degree in Accounts or Finance is an added advantage
  • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, and CFA is required.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in accounting, preferably within an engineering or project-based oil & gas organization.
  • Proficiency in SAGE 300 ERP is essential for other accounting ERP.

  • The Financial Accountant will assist senior management and the organization in making critical business decisions by analyzing and presenting key financial data, develop and implement strategies to reduce the company’s operational costs.
  • The Financial Accountant responsibilities include budgeting, managing tax payments, ensure compliance with regulations & legal requirements, performing internal & external audits and offer financial stability.

Responsibilities

  • To ensure timely preparation of monthly management accounts and financial information which provides a complete and accurate picture of the Company’s financial position.
  • Oversee the execution of the Company’s budgeting and budgetary control process to achieve the agreed corporate objectives.
  • To ensure the accuracy and integrity of the accounting records
  • To co-ordinate the analysis and synthesis of the Company’s financial and non-financial information which provides a basis for sound business decisions by executive management

  • Supervise the implementation of budgetary mechanisms to proactively identify and manage budget/ performance variances by the business sectors.
  • Authorize expenditure/ transactions in line with the Company’s approved authority limits.
  • Periodically review key Company Finance activity and performance reports and take appropriate action to ensure the Company’s business objectives are achieved.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors (where applicable) and deal with any financial irregularities as they arise. Cashflow forecasting and Reconciliation of actual performance against forecasts.
  • Working closely with external auditors to prepare the statutory financial reports/year-end audit.
  • Preparing and reporting of key KPI’s for the business
  • Track the company’s financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement.
  • Managing, reporting, and reconciling all intercompany costs
  • Research and analyze financial reports and market trends.
  • Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes.
  • Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company.
  • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
  • Coordinate with the Management Accounts section within the Finance & Accounts department to complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines.
  • Review and recommend changes to existing accounting procedures.
  • Development of appropriate financial controls and processes
  • Ongoing automation and continuous improvement as the business continues to scale

General Responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate historical records.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies, including accounts payable and receivable functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.

Job Overview

  • To develop and optimize economical industrial processes through efficient and reliable system and equipment design such that safety, health and environment are not compromised.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships within IESL, with its clients and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate and participate in PHA, HAZOP and HAZID workshop.

Job Title: Senior Civil Engineer

Location: Nigeria

Job Overview

  • The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer carries out analysis and design, ensures that calculations, reporting and drawings are carried out in compliance with DCC/QAQC requirements.
  • He is involved in preparation of design basis and brief, design specifications, reviews, cost-time and resources (CTR) among others. In collaboration with the Lead Engineer, he supervises work assigned to structural engineers and designers.
  • Generally, he carries out civil/structural activities in the department as assigned by the Lead Engineer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputize for the Lead in all areas and as assigned by the Lead.
  • Supervises structural design for onshore and offshore oil and gas facilities projects.
  • Reviews scope of works, budgets, schedules and progress.
  • Reviews and manages project, general specifications, engineering procedures and engineering policy.
  • Ensures that deliverables are produced to the correct level of quality and in accordance with the project plans and procedures.
  • The Senior Civil-Structural Engineer must perform and take responsibility for the following:
    • Schedules and estimating activities.
    • Prepares Cost-Time-Register.
    • Ensures the quality of work from subordinate meets the set standards.
    • Establishes the basis of design and design criteria.
    • Prepares reviews and maintains structural drawings (layout, plan, section, details, etc.) and documents (specifications, procedures, philosophy, calculation notes, etc.).
    • Preparation and maintenance of structural design data.
    • Liaises with other disciplines to verify and ensure that structural requirements are well understood and properly taken cares of by all concerned.
    • Set basis for structural calculations and reporting.
    • Perform, review and supervises structural calculations.
    • Ensure health, safety and environmental aspects of all design at all times.
    • Review of all other discipline works which may affect the structural integrity.
    • Coordinates and participates in design review and workshops.

Jos Specification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Sscience, or a related field. Masters’ degree will be an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 12 years’ cognate experience as a Civil/ Structural Engineer.
  • Extensive skills within the Onshore and Offshore Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Strong background in the design and analysis of offshore facilities, such as fixed platforms and FPSO’s.
  • Ability to plan structural execution, incorporate scope, deliverables, schedules of all manpower resources, whilst overseeing structural engineering progress and deliverables for assigned projects.
  • Must have experience of FEED as well as EPC Projects.
  • Understands all matters related to planning, project progress/delivery and reporting,
  • Must be well versed in the use of structural software such as Staad Pro, SACS, or other equivalents.
  • Must have the knowledge of drafting and modeling software such as AutoCAD, Aveva E3D/ PDMS, etc.
  • Must be familiar with relevant latest industry codes and standards such as DNV, AISC and API.
  • Excellent knowledge and use of MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Proven leadership and excellent coordination.
