Scope and Responsibilities
The CEO will be responsible for the following areas:
Leadership & Management:
- Drive the impact the organization needs to gain a competitive advantage.
- Ensure ongoing programming excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems. Recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals.
- Actively engage and energize OppApp supporters, volunteers, Board of Directors and Board of Advisors, members, event committees, partnering organizations and funders.
- Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors. Serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build Board involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing local programming and operations as well as for the national and online expansion. Work with Board to recruit new members.
- Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the Board, funders, and other constituents.
- Responsible for the recruitment, employment, and management of all personnel, both paid staff and volunteers. Ensures that sound human resource practices are in place.
- Develop and maintain sound financial practices. Working with the finance & administration staff, Finance Committee, and the Board, prepare the budget and see that the organization operates within budget guidelines.
- Monitor financial performance and provide regular feedback to Board.
- Together with the Board, lead strategic planning and implementation process of OppApp’s five-year strategic plan.
Fundraising & Communications:
- With the Vice President of Development, expand OppApp fundraising strategy and capabilities to meet revenue growth goals.
- Expand and enhance a diversified fundraising program which would include, but not be limited to, major individual giving, foundation, corporate, membership, in-kind and special events.
- Management of existing and cultivation of new donor relationships.
- Expand programming revenue generation, and corporate and foundation fundraising activities, to support existing program operations and global expansion.
- Expand individual supporters in all geographies.
- Act as the lead spokesperson for OppApp.
- Deepen and refine all aspects of communications – from online presence to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
- Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
Planning & New Business:
- Design further expansion and execute the five-year strategic planning process for program expansion into new markets.
- Assure the organization has a long-range strategy which achieves its mission, and toward which it makes consistent and timely progress.
- Build partnerships in new geographies, establishing relationships with the entrepreneurs, funders, and political and community leaders at each expansion site.
- Create, implement and evaluate program initiatives that reflect the mission, vision and values of OpenApp.
Qualifications
All candidates should have proven leadership, coaching and relationship management experience. Expectations and other preferred qualifications include:
- Track record of effectively leading and regionally and/or nationally scaling a performance and outcomes-based organization and staff.
- Ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with five years of substantial management experience.
- Strong track record of delivering and exceeding operational and financial results, building a superior team and developing strong relationships with external constituencies. Must be able to drive and manage change, be creative and possess a strong desire to win and passion to excel.
- Action-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable and innovative approach to business planning.
- Demonstrated skill and success in strategic planning, as well as execution of strategic plans.
- Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people and effectively manage diverse points of view.
- Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage, and develop high-performance teams, set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
- Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation.
- Proven abilities in working with, and managing, a diverse Board of Directors – particularly in strategic planning, policymaking, fundraising, board development, board committees, etc.
- The ability to engage and excite an audience – large or small – as a public speaker is required, as the CEO is often the public “face” of the organization across existing and emerging channels of communication.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
- Proven ability to fundraise – particularly with corporations, foundations, high profile & high-net-worth individuals.
- A passion for entrepreneurship – entrepreneurial experience preferable but not required. An understanding of the international landscape of entrepreneurship organizations is a major plus.
- Strong marketing, public relations, and relationship building experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and experience in budget management.
- Proven track record of managing staff, including staff development, coaching and mentoring to grow staff into expanding roles and responsibilities. Ability to grow the team from 20to 100 over the next five years.
- Ability to persuade and motivate others, and to gain the respect and attention of the Board leadership and influential volunteers.
- Solid financial management experience to ensure the financial wellbeing of a profit organization.
- Experience in working with a large number of active volunteers is a plus.
- Must have proven, strong communications skills, to become the spokesperson and advocate nationally for OpenApp.
- Internal communication skills are equally as important.

Job Purpose
- The CIO will provide insight and direction, leads the investment team, complete all fund transactions, and effectively maintain portfolio development on behalf of the organization.

Responsibilities
Includes:
- Develop and maintain efficient relationship with investment departments and ensure compliance to all policies and laws.
- Monitor all investments for organization and ensure efficiency in working.
- Analyze all client requirements and determine appropriate investment strategies for organization and develop an investment team to handle all work of organization.
- Provide expert knowledge on all investment and financial activities for project, manage project portfolio and evaluate efficient working of staff.
- Review all performance of the investment portfolio and prepare required report for management in accordance to company policies.
- Provide an interface with the Investment Committee and recommend new and changes to existing investment policies and submit it for approval.
- Develop and maintain knowledge on all market securities plans and manage all portfolio management products.

Cost Management:
- Assists with the compilation and management of the Fund budget.
Fund Raising:
- Participates in fund raising initiatives including information creation, presentations, and investor engagement.
- Actively participates in the marketing of funds during capital raising.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Has overall responsibility for assigned departmental staff and budgets.
Experience and Education
- Master’s Degree or MBA in Finance, Economics, Accounting or equivalent qualification;
- 10 – 15 years of experience in corporate and/or project finance/ private equity with a proven track record of sourcing, structuring and closing investments;
- CFA, ACCA, CAIA, etc. are added advantages.

Responsibilities
- This new, pivotal role of Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) will lead our Sales and Marketing Teams, report to the CEO, and be a valued member of the executive team at Private Label Mastery as we expand revenue in 2024
- Define and lead forward the company’s strategy and revenue generation opportunities to drive profitable, predictable, stable revenue growth
- Spearheading all Private Label Mastery revenue efforts comprised of sales, marketing, brand, and loyalty
- Build long-term sales and marketing strategies

Role Overview
- We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Chief Marketing Officer to join our founding team. We are at a critical stage in our growth and have an urgent need for a Chief Marketing Officer. Ideally, we want someone with previous startup and enterprise who has experience in all phases of the Marketing execution process.
- Africa is the world’s youngest continent and expanding the fastest. The number of young people working in Africa will rise to 375 million by 2030.
- The International Monetary Fund estimates that by 2035, there will be more young Africans joining the workforce each year than there are in the rest of the world put together due to population growth on the continent.
- The number of young individuals looking for work is much higher than the number of opportunities that are open to them. The skills of young people entering the workforce and the needs of companies are also out of sync.
- Many young people will have trouble finding employment to better their living conditions if nothing is done.
- We have spent the last six months investigating the finest methods for creating the talent workflow system that will assist in matching African talents with opportunities. Currently, at the stage of executing the prototype system, business processes while some aspect is live in production to start generating revenue and Marketing.
- We’ll close the skills gap and provide African talent greater job chances.
- The founders are individuals with top academic background, professional experience in leading companies at leadership positions & strong technical background.
- The aim of the company is to become a “unicorn” (one-billion-dollar valuation) in the next 3-5 years as the product-market is considerably validated.

- The individuals who will be hired at this position will be given a significant amount of equity given that the company is at execution stage.
- The person will be working fully remotely on a part-time basis while continuing their current job until we begin generating revenue and secure funding.

Primary Responsibilities
- Create and follow up on the marketing strategies within EduTech in order to achieve the best results and targets on different creative activities on a global scale.
- Work closely with the Tech and Engineering teams to ensure the marketing strategies and market development are in accordance with the market trends in order to create the best digitalization activities.
- Manage marketing team and continue the expansion and structuring of the same.
- Define and develop communications both online and offline.
- Leading sales activities through marketing practices.
- Create market research and work hand in hand with R&D departments in the development of new products.
- Work with the creative teams to develop the best marketing products, including promotional campaigns, PR and digital materials
- Work and develop strategic partnerships and supplier networks
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement all marketing and communications strategies
- Oversee the development and implementation of strategies for growth marketing campaigns, with a focus on content marketing, social media marketing, and paid advertising
- Create brand marketing campaigns (in collaboration with relevant internal teams) aimed at increasing brand awareness and engaging with existing audiences
- Promote the creation of programs or events to promote our product and service offerings
- Maintain the brand integrity and strategically position the brands as an industry leader in its category
- Oversee the launch of new products, and services, and manage associated brands to meet profitability goals and targets.
- Optimize marketing for growth through customer loyalty and customer brand advocacy
- Follow topical issues, industry trends, and the larger media ecosystem to create opportunities to share our corporate story
- Support with crisis communications and brand reputation management
- Handle international and national media inquiries, make presentations and appearances on behalf of the brands
- Develop a unified approach to the company’s overall marketing efforts in collaboration with other teams, ensuring consistent brand voice across all initiatives
- Leverage analytic tools for market research to find ways to enhance the company’s marketing efforts
- Compile performance reports to brief executive leadership on marketing initiatives and provide recommendations on improvement strategies
Candidate Profile
- You have +15 years of experience in Marketing roles, and some within start-ups.
- Your professional experience is preferably within the Educational, Financial, Insurance, Energy, Telecommunication and Hospitality.
- You have experience working with B2C marketing activities.
- You are professionally fluent in English.
- You are a leader, having strong management and communication skills.
