Sambus Geospatial is a Geographic Information System (GIS) and mapping company. We are the sole distributor of ESRI, ENVI, Trimble and WINGTRA Drones with exclusive representation in Ghana, Nigeria, Gambia, Gabon, Sierra Leone, Equatorial Guinea, and Liberia.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Professional Services Lead

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Geospatial Professional Lead position is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for overseeing the implementation of geospatial projects, supporting Sales and Business Development efforts, and driving key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve departmental goals.
  • Work with the cooperate office to formulate and implement the professional services strategy.
  • Conduct demonstrations of geospatial solutions to prospective clients, showcasing the capabilities and value of our offerings.
  • Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of back-end and front-end technical workflows.
  • Collaborate with the Sales and Business Development team to support proposal development, including contributing technical insights and solutions
  • Supervise the implementation of geospatial projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Coach and develop the capacity of team members and junior officers in the professional service team.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the geospatial team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Work with the HR to recruit, train and manage the performance of team members.
  • Write and submit periodic reports.
  • Develop Team budget and monitor expenditure.
  • Undertake any other job-related tasks assigned by supervisor or Management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of University First Degree or a professional qualification in Geospatial Domain or related field.
  • Experienced with Geospatial Projects implementation.
  • Proficiency certificate in project management.
  • Proficiency in conducting spatial analysis, data manipulation, and visualization using GIS software such as Esri ArcGIS and NV5.
  • Middle management experience in a corporate setting. Demonstrated ability to communicate, lead and influence, and effectively achieve results through people at all levels of the organization.
  • Skill in building and maintaining positive relationships with clients, understanding their needs, and delivering tailored solutions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of geospatial technologies, including GPS/GNSS, remote sensing, and geodatabases
  • Excellent mentoring and coaching, people management and team building skills.
  • Committed to continuous education through workshops, seminars, and conferences.
  • Ability to deploy and configure geospatial solutions using Esri, NV5, Trimble, and other relevant platforms.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience
  • Experience in leading and motivating a geospatial team to achieve project objectives and departmental goals
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or SQL for geospatial application development and automation is desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Proactive nature

Salary
N250,000 – N300,000 / month.

Responsibilities

  • To identify new business opportunities to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow
  • Develop and implement BD strategy for the company
  • Positioning in the appropriate markets
  • Lead the generation of sales leads, research, and identify new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Foster and develop relationships with customers/clients
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
  • Draft client contracts and ensure the terms and suitable for the company and client
  • Liaise with appropriate teams to deliver BD mandate
