Eligibility Criteria for the DAAD SBW Berlin Scholarship

To be eligible for the DAAD SBW Berlin Scholarship, applicants must:

• Be between 18 and 30 years old

• Have professional or volunteer experience in the non-profit sector

• Demonstrate a strong commitment to working in their home country for at least 18 months after graduation

• Provide proof of a relatively low net income

• Have no immediate family members residing permanently in Germany

• Show that they have not lived in Germany for more than 18 months before applying

• Have an average grade equivalent to a German GPA of at least 2.0

• Submit an application before starting university or be enrolled in their first, second, or third semester at a state-recognized university (in Germany or abroad)

• Be applying for a master’s degree either shortly before or after completing a bachelor’s degree
