We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Business Development / Growth Strategy Officer 

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • The Business Development Officer is responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and building strong relationships with retailers, wholesalers, distributors, and institutional customers.
  • Whereslng, the role focuses on increasing volume, opening new markets, improving product visibility, and supporting revenue growth for both retail and wholesale channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and onboard new retailers, wholesalers, and distributors
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to increase soup and garri sales
  • Manage relationships with existing customers to drive repeat business
  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, and supply agreements
  • Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and market trends
  • Coordinate with marketing teams on promotions and product launches
  • Ensure product availability and proper shelf placement
  • Collect market feedback and report customer needs to management
  • Track sales performance against targets
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales and growth report.

Qualifications

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor`s Degree with 1 – 3 years experience.

Skills Required
Technical / Business Skills:

  • Strong sales and negotiation skills
  • Market analysis and customer segmentation
  • Knowledge of retail & wholesale distribution channels
  • Pricing and margin awareness
  • Basic understanding of sales data and reports
  • Proficiency in MS Excel / Google Sheets
  • CRM or sales tracking tools experience.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Relationship-building and networking ability
  • Results-driven and self-motivated
  • Problem-solving and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work independently and meet targets.

Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 monthly.

  • Field marketing and direct sales
  • Digital marketing (social media, email, online ads)
  • Market research and customer engagement
  • Brand promotion and lead generation.
