Job Title: Senior Software Engineer (Backend – Java)

Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-time

About the Role

  • As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll design, build, and operate backend services that power critical parts of the Quidax platform.
  • Beyond implementation, you’ll help shape technical direction, mentor engineers, improve engineering practices, and contribute to building a world-class engineering culture.
  • We’re looking for someone who can balance speed with quality, make sound engineering trade-offs, and take ownership of services from design through production.

What You’ll Be Owning
Build & Scale Core Platform Services:

Within your first 90 days:

  • Deliver production-ready backend features independently.
  • Become a trusted owner of one or more backend services.
  • Contribute meaningfully to architecture and design discussions.
  • Improve service reliability, observability, or performance in at least one area of the platform.

Within your first 6 months:

  • Lead the design and implementation of complex backend systems.
  • Drive improvements to engineering quality, maintainability, and developer experience.
  • Help establish patterns and best practices for building scalable services.
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, technical discussions, and design collaboration.

Drive Reliability & Operational Excellence:

  • Own services throughout their lifecycle, from design and implementation to deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Improve system reliability, observability, security, and performance.
  • Investigate production incidents and drive long-term fixes rather than temporary workarounds.
  • Continuously identify opportunities to simplify systems and reduce technical debt.

Contribute to Technical Direction:

  • Participate in architecture reviews and technical decision-making.
  • Help shape how we design APIs, distributed systems, and internal platform services.
  • Contribute to technical documentation, RFCs, and engineering standards.
  • Make thoughtful engineering trade-offs between speed, complexity, scalability, and maintainability.

Build a Strong Engineering Culture

  • Review code and provide actionable feedback.
  • Advocate for testing, operational excellence, and engineering best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively across Product, Design, Compliance, Risk, and Engineering.
  • Raise the bar for ownership, quality, and technical excellence.

Biggest Challenges You’ll Tackle
Here’s what will keep you up at night, in the best possible way:

  • Designing systems that handle high transaction volumes without sacrificing reliability.
  • Building services that remain secure, available, and observable in a fast-moving financial environment.
  • Balancing engineering speed with the quality standards expected of financial infrastructure.
  • Simplifying increasingly complex systems as the platform grows.
  • Debugging and solving difficult production issues where the answer isn’t obvious.
  • Scaling architecture, processes, and engineering practices alongside rapid business growth.

What We’re Looking For
We’re less interested in someone who simply knows Java and more interested in someone who has built and operated real production systems.

You’ll likely be a strong fit if you:

  • Have 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Have strong experience building backend systems with Java and Spring Boot.
  • Have designed and operated production-grade services at scale.
  • Understand distributed systems, micro-services, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures.
  • Have experience working with PostgreSQL or MySQL in production environments.
  • Have worked with Redis, caching strategies, and messaging systems such as Kafka.
  • Can design APIs and systems that are reliable, maintainable, and easy to evolve.
  • Have strong debugging, troubleshooting, and production incident management skills.
  • Collaborate effectively across teams and communicate technical ideas clearly.
  • Take ownership from problem definition through production support.

Technical Skills:
You should have strong practical experience across most of the following areas:

  • Security:
  • OAuth2, OpenID Connect (OIDC), JWT, Authentication & Authorization, Secure API Development, OWASP Top 10, Secrets Management.

  • Spring Boot
  • Spring Data JPA
  • Spring Security
  • PostgreSQL / MySQL
  • Redis
  • Kafka
  • Docker

We value positive energy, and clear communication and are committed to building an inclusive environment for people from every background.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Customer Success Analyst

Location: Remote
Job Type: Full time

About the Role

  • We are looking for a Customer Success Analyst to help deliver a fast, reliable and valuable experience to Quidax customers across both fiat and crypto transactions.
  • This role will sit at the intersection of customer support, customer operations and customer retention; helping customers resolve issues quickly, stay engaged with the product and get more value from their experience over time.
  • This is a great role for someone who enjoys solving customer problems, spotting patterns in behavior and turning customer feedback and data into actions that improve experience, trust and long-term customer value.

What You’ll Be Owning
Customer Support and Issue Resolution:
Within your first 60- 90 days:

  • Own customer issues across fiat and crypto transactions from first contact to resolution, ensuring customers get timely, accurate, and empathetic support..
  • Handle account, transaction, verification and product related queries while meeting agreed SLA and quality expectations.

Customer Health, Behaviour and Insight Tracking:
Within your first 180 days:

  • Track recurring customer pain points, onboarding drop-offs, inactivity patterns and repeat complaints that may signal churn or low engagement.
  • Contribute to customer health and retention reporting by turning support interactions and behavioural patterns into useful insights.
  • Help the team understand which customer segments need more support, education or intervention to stay active and successful on Quidax.

Product, Operations and Customer Excellence:
Within your first 60 – 90 days:

  • Surface bugs, transaction failures, recurring complaints, and operational gaps quickly and clearly to the right internal teams.
  • Work closely with Product, Engineering and Compliance to investigate customer-impacting issues and move them to resolution.
  • Contribute to improvements in workflows, support content, SOPs and internal documentation based on recurring customer friction.

Biggest Challenges You’ll Tackle

  • Balancing fast, high-quality support with more proactive retention work in a business where customer issues can be urgent, technical and time-sensitive.
  • Connecting the dots between support conversations, customer behaviour and churn risk so we can understand why customers disengage and what to improve.
  • Helping rebuild customer confidence after poor experience by not just resolving issues, but also improving trust, clarity and the likelihood that customers continue using Quidax.

What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years cognate experience in customer support, customer success or customer operations, ideally in fintech, crypto, payments, banking or other regulated environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgement and the ability to handle customer issues that require investigation, follow-through and clear coordination across teams
  • A proactive customer-minded approach with the ability to spot patterns, surface useful insights, and contribute to retention, customer experience, and process-improvement work beyond day-to-day ticket handling.
  • You’re comfortable handling customer problems that involve transactions, timelines, multiple moving parts and some investigation.
  • You’re comfortable working with data; sorting, cleaning, analysing and using support or transaction data to spot patterns, track issues and support decision making.

Reporting Line:

  • This role reports to the Customer Success Team Lead and works closely with the Customer Success team on support delivery, retention initiatives, issue resolution and customer experience improvements.
  • This role will also collaborate regularly with Product, Engineering, Compliance and Operations to investigate customer issues and improve the customer journey over time.

Job Title: Product Manager, APIs (Mid-Level / Senior)

Location: Remote
Job Type: Full time

About the Role

  • We’re looking for a Product Manager, APIs (Mid-Level/Senior) to own the Quidax API: the platform that lets other businesses plug crypto and stablecoins straight into their own products.
  • Picture this. A fintech company wants to give its customers crypto wallets, swaps, and stablecoin payments. They could spend two years and a small fortune building custody, liquidity, and compliance from scratch. Or they could call our API and ship in weeks.
  • That second option? That’s your product.
  • You’ll own the roadmap, work closely with Engineering and Commercial, and make sure merchants trust us to power real money movement for real customers. If you like building the rails other builders depend on, keep reading.

What You’ll Be Owning
Know the platform, and the people who use it

  • First 90 days: get deep on the API. Make test calls, read the docs like a merchant would, and find every spot where integration hurts.
  • Sit with our biggest merchants. Learn why they use us.
  • Map the full journey, from first API call to first live transaction, and mark where people drop off.

Own the roadmap for the API:

  • Make the calls on what we build, what we kill, and what we say no to (kindly).
  • Own pricing and packaging too. Price it so merchants win and so do we.

Ship it, and keep it boringly reliable:

  • Run delivery with Engineering using rituals that stick: sprints, retros, the good stuff.
  • Grow the number of live merchants and the volume flowing through the API, and have the numbers to back it up.
  • Hold the line on uptime, security, and compliance. Merchants move their customers’ money through us. “Mostly works” isn’t a thing.

Make integration super simple (the Enablement bit):

  • Cut time-to-first-transaction. The faster a merchant goes live, the better the product.
  • Build docs, sandboxes, and support materials so good that merchants barely need to email us.
  • Give Sales, Solutions, and Support what they need to win deals and keep merchants happy.

Biggest Challenges You’ll Tackle
Here’s what you’ll be proud to fix:

  • Building one platform solid enough for a big enterprise and simple enough for a small shop. Both, at once.
  • Saying no. Stakeholders will ask for a hundred features. You’ll ship the right ten.
  • Moving fast on integrations while risk and compliance stay airtight, across multiple markets and regulators.
  • Keeping the developer experience world-class while the roadmap, the requests, and the deadlines all pull at you.

What We’re Looking For
The must-haves:

  • 5+ years building products in payments, crypto, fintech, or B2B tech.
  • You’ve owned an API or developer platform as a product, not just run tickets for one. You get that your customers are developers, and you design for them.
  • You make calls with data: adoption, feedback, experiments. Gut helps. Numbers decide.
  • You run tight agile teams and keep delivery smooth when priorities shift. And they will.
  • You play well with Engineering, Commercial, Legal, and partners. You turn “what the customer needs” into “what we ship.”

The nice-to-haves:

  • You know your way around custody, liquidity, stablecoins, or on/off ramps.
  • You’re comfortable with compliance, risk, or regulatory frameworks in payments or crypto.
  • You’ve built for African, LATAM, or Asian markets.

Reporting Line:

  • You’ll report to our Head of Product. Day to day, you’ll work with Engineering, Commercial, Solutions, and Legal & Compliance, plus the merchants building on top of us. You own the merchant platform roadmap, so the call on what ships is yours to make and defend.

Reporting Line:

  • You’ll report to the Legal Manager and jam regularly with Compliance, Risk, Product and Business.
