Global Media Officer

The Opportunity

In this role, you’ll work at the forefront of global media, driving our presence across print, broadcast, and digital platforms.
- Your expertise in news judgment will be crucial in reacting strategically to international events, while your creativity and initiative will help secure coverage that positions Plan International as the leading voice on children’s rights and equality for girls.

About You
- Proven experience working in a busy news/media organisation or in a PR/media relations team
- Excellent verbal and writing skills in English, with the ability to produce punchy news copy and to adapt writing style to meet the needs of different audiences and media outlets
- Proven success at developing and placing media stories – from identifying an idea, to collating the relevant information and assets and securing high quality coverage
- Ability to build productive relationships with journalists, and to creatively and tenaciously pitch stories to the media
- Use of a media monitoring platform such as Vuelio or similar
- Strong knowledge of global media outlets, their ways of working, audiences and requirements
- Ability to work quickly and flexibly under pressure, and motivating and supporting colleagues to do the same
- Ability to persuade, lobby and influence peers and colleagues and form productive relationships and contacts
- Experience of tailoring communications to different audiences and channels, including media, social media and digital
- An understanding of ethical storytelling and how safeguarding applies to media and communications work
- Experience interviewing and working with programme participants in a sensitive way, that honours the principle of “do no harm”
- Strong understanding of humanitarian and development issues and rights-based work
- Ability to work independently and on own initiative, with the strong organisational skills to manage a wide and varied workload
- Ability to work enthusiastically as part of a team, and to form collaborative working relationships both internally and externally.

Head of IT Security
Location: Nigeria
The Opportunity
- Plan International is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of IT Security to protect our global communications, systems, and assets from internal and external threats.
- In this critical role, you’ll ensure that our data and technologies are safeguarded across our operations in over 80 countries, supporting our ambition to improve the lives of 200 million girls by 2030.
- You will oversee IT Security for key enterprise systems, including ERP, HRIS, data analytics, and systems that manage sensitive information for over one million children.
- Your responsibilities will include managing a budget of around €1 million, coordinating with third-party security partners, and collaborating closely with IT teams globally.
About You
- Expertise in IT security standards (e.g., ISO27001, ISO/IEC 27031, CSA CCM, NIST CSF, HIPAA, PCI DSS), preferably holding certifications such as CISSP or CISM.
- Awareness of emerging technologies, particularly AI, and their relevance to operational environments.
- Good understanding of solution product design (typically as documented by product vendor).
- Familiar with architecture frameworks (TOGAF), and project management methodologies (PRINCE2, AGILE) and understanding of service management (ITIL)
- Awareness of technical landscape, including Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Salesforce, SAP.
- Robust understanding of and IAM systems like Okta, as well as of tools like Azure AD, networking, security, monitoring and Sentinel.
- Project management, risk management, and communication skills.
- Outstanding organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on incident response.
- A strategic, forward-thinking approach, adept at leading workshops, making informed decisions, and consistently achieving high-performance standards.
