Applications are now open for the 2025/2026 ICTP Postgraduate Diploma Scholarship Programme.

Since its inception in 1991, the ICTP Postgraduate Diploma Programme has produced graduates who have pursued PhDs at prestigious institutions across Europe and North America. Many have returned to their home countries, where they contribute to research and education, while others have established careers in top scientific institutions worldwide.

Additionally, numerous alumni maintain long-term collaborations with ICTP, furthering their academic and research impact.

Eligibility Criteria for ICTP Postgraduate Scholarship 2025

The ICTP Postgraduate Diploma Scholarship Programme is available to young graduates (typically under 28 years old) from nations that are members of the United Nations, UNESCO, or IAEA.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A degree equivalent to an MSc (or an exceptionally strong BSc) in physics, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Candidates are selected based on academic performance and recommendations.
  • The selection committee prioritizes academic excellence, gender balance, and geographical diversity.
  • Upon course completion, participants must submit and defend a dissertation.
