Summary

  • We are seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of GSO Assistant (Housing) in the General Services Office.

Duties

  • This position reports to the GSO. Incumbent coordinates major lease issues with OBO, landlords and contractors.
  • Assists with overall housing acquisition to include identifying properties, making recommendations on leases, contractors involved, and conducts a final walk-through of residences prior to occupancy.
  • Working with the two Housing FSNs, the GSO Assistant identifies potential residential property and coordinates the screening process by the GSO, FMM, RSO and Housing Board.

Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:

  • All selected candidates must be able to obtain and hold a non-sensitive security clearance.
  • All selected candidates will be subject to a background investigation and may be subject to a pre-employment medical exam.
  • Selected candidate must be able to begin working within a reasonable period of time (6 weeks) upon receipt of agency authorization and/or clearances/certifications or their candidacy may end.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma is required.

Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in housing management operations OR two years’ experience in overseas General Services Operations is required.

Language:

  • Good working knowledge speaking/reading/writing in English is required.

Job Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with U.S. Housing standards, internal furnishing requirements is required.

Skills And Abilities:

  • Must be service oriented and possess ability to work well with others in fast paced and stressful environment.
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft and Excel packages, Department of State Real Property Application (RPA) and good writing skills. Must have ability to apply Department of State housing regulations.

Salary
USD $43,112 / per year.
