Description

Job Summary

  • Familiarity with plant automation/SCADA systems is an advantage.

Job Title: Reciprocating Equipment Specialist Engineer

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Description

  • The Reciprocating Equipment Specialist Engineer will oversee all activities relating to reciprocating machines (gas compressors, diesel/gas engines, generators, etc) for JV Assets.
  • The role requires both technical leadership, including supervising work at the site, and administrative management, ensuring alignment with the company referential and industry standards.

The incumbent will interact with:

  • Maintenance and Operations teams (onshore & offshore)
  • Support Services (Contracts & Procurement, Logistics, ECP, PAR, Finance, etc.)
  • Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and technical service providers
  • External contractors, vendors, and JV partners.

Technical Responsibilities

  • Lead preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of reciprocating machines across onshore and offshore facilities.
  • Perform complete engine teardowns and rebuilds on diesel and gas generators
  • Diagnose and resolve complex failures, ensuring timely mobilization of OEM field service engineers when required.
  • Perform minor, major overhaul, repair and commissioning activities of the combustion engine at the site without OEM FSR
  • Review and approve technical specifications, repair procedures, and modifications.
  • Lead and supervise the service team working on engines, either for preventive or corrective operation, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
  • Perform QAQC follow up of equipment refurbished at specialized workshop
  • Ensure compliance with international standards and company rules in design, overhaul, and certification of reciprocating equipment.
  • Validate spare parts lists, critical stock levels, and obsolescence management.
  • Analyze equipment reliability, availability, and performance data, recommending improvements for cost and efficiency optimization.
  • Support audits, inspections, and HSE compliance on equipment-related activities.
  • Generate root cause analysis, technical service reports on work executed
  • Administrative Responsibilities
  • Develop, review, and manage Scopes of Work for contractors, including technical evaluation of bids.
  • Oversee specialized service providers.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal management and external partner review.
  • Ensure strict compliance with procurement ethics, documentation, and reporting standards.
  • Coach and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and contractors to build technical capacity.
  • Ensure proper use of CMMS (UNISUP or equivalent) for planning, execution, and close-out of maintenance activities.

Accountabilities:

  • Deliver safe, reliable, and cost-effective reciprocating equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Ensure availability and reliability targets of reciprocating machines are achieved.
  • Provide technically and economically sound recommendations to management and partners.
  • Ensure contractors respect Company referential standards
  • Control and manage communication, in particular in case of high risk and emergency situations
  • Actively participate, when required, to the Board of Inquiry and Emergency Management Team
  • Must adhere to strict confidentiality protocols.

Job Requirements
Qualifications / Experience Required:

  • Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
  • Proven 10 years of professional experience doing major overhaul on reciprocating equipment on industrial engine from Caterpillar, Wartsila, Perkins, Cummins etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of reciprocating machines (gas generators, diesel generators, gas compressors, etc)
  • Strong understanding of reciprocating machines design philosophy, maintenance, and certifications
  • Strong understanding of oil and petrochemical industries standards relating to reciprocating machines
  • High-level proficiency in Diesel engine troubleshooting using OEM diagnostic software and tool for calibration, fault finding and engine adjustment.
  • Proven ability to rebuild industrial diesel or gas engine independently
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality results under pressure
  • Strong organizational and team management capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Valid BOSIET OPITO approved
  • Valid Medical certificate that state fitness to work in offshore and onshore oil and gas installation.

Job Title: Methods Engineer – C&P Tools & Support

Deliver training on relevant Tools:

  • SAP (150 Man-hours/annum)
  • E-sourcing tool (200 Man-hours/annum + More than 90 vendors)
  • General support (100 Man-hours/annum)
  • Create and or update approx. – 7 work instructions per annum.

The Job holder adheres to the H3SEQ rules

  • Be in constant alignment with H3SE Company rules, Procedures, Instructions and applicable legislation
  • Take the necessary measures to avert immediate threat of danger. Exercising caution as necessary to avoiddanger to persons and installations or avoid pollution
  • Participate actively in H3SE meetings, training sessions and drills and co-operate actively in the execution ofH3SE plans
  • Support for Supply Chain tools and systems
  • Mandatory Competency: Power BI Expert level with autonomy and a very high proficiency in the development of bespoke queries and interactive visual dashboards in Power BI using data from several C&P

  • Coordinate and ensure the regular training and support for external Suppliers on the e-sourcing tool and NIPEX platforms
  • Suggest and propose the delivery of Requests for Assistance (e.g. MTKs) for incidents or challenges requiring CC SAP or other external assistance
  • Test and validate under custody of Performance & Tools Manager new solutions and upgrades of Supply Chain (SC) tools,
  • Participate in all specific actions (e.g. data cleaning) related to SC tools which can have impacts on SC processes

Training, appropriation and controls:

  • Suggest and prepare after SAP Lead User’s approval all requests for modifications to profiles, reference users or permissions in respect of SC Tools so as to ensure segregation of duties in SAP.
  • Coordinate and ensure the regular (re)training of users of all SC Tools and in particular, the training and induction of new users so as to ensure the optimal appropriation and use of these tools.
  • Perform regular controls to continuously improve the level of appropriation of SC tools so as to improve affiliates performance in ASAP and related audits (e.g. SOX audits)

Front Line contact for IS systems:

  • Monitor the general evolution of new technologies and their potential for process improvements.

Accountabilities

  • Power BI expert with autonomy to develop bespoke queries and interactive visual dashboards
  • To accurately represent business requirements and the configuration of affiliates business processes in the system
  • To be responsible for quality delivery of all training and appropriation related to SC Tools
  • To act as liaison between the UNISUP Coordination, the UNISUP MM users and SC Business Process Owner
  • To be the Champion for all SC software solutions within the SC business of the affiliate including synergies with other business entity.
  • To validate the district’s position on C&P SC tools.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a Second-Class university degree in Engineering, Business or a Supply Chain discipline plus 3 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas Industry.
  • Power BI expert level.
  • Very good knowledge of C&P SC tools including UNISUP, Planning tools, e-sourcing tools & NipeX, in addition to other Business & Computing tools
  • Computer literacy is mandatory and paramount on and off the job,
  • Microsoft EXCEL Proficiency is highly important and job holder must be able to write Macros.
  • Must have risk-based audit experience.
  • Must be able to perform financial and non-financial audits.
  • Must be able to facilitate the LEAN Methodology
  • Must have Microsoft PowerPoint presentation Proficiency.

  • Experience in mixed-use High-Rise Building Construction Projects.
  • Experience in commercial and school construction is also mandatory
  • Proficiency in FIDIC, CAD software, including Revit and BIM
  • International experience: Must have worked on international construction projects.
