The Opportunity

  • Reporting to the Head of Workforce Development, the Lead, Health Workforce Development will drive the Foundation’s strategy to strengthen Nigeria’s health sector by developing, executing, and scaling impactful health workforce programs. This role involves setting strategic direction, engaging partners, and facilitating programs to enhance the health workforce landscape across Nigeria. S/he will build a robust network of health initiatives, fostering new and existing partnerships to ensure inclusive and sustainable health workforce solutions.
  • This role requires frequent travel within Nigeria and occasional international travel. The Lead will operate in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility and adaptability to rapidly changing priorities.

  • Strategically design and implement health workforce development programs, ensuring alignment with national health objectives and the foundation’s strategic priorities.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in health sciences, Public Health, Business Administration, Public Policy, International Development, or a related field is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 12 years of experience in health sector development, with a significant focus on workforce development, capacity building, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing complex projects and initiatives with multiple program partners within the health sector, preferably focusing on workforce development.
  • Proven track record of effective stakeholder engagement and partnership development with government, private sector, and civil society organizations.
  • Experience working within the Nigerian health sector or similar contexts, with a thorough understanding of the challenges and opportunities for health workforce development.
  • Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams towards achieving strategic objectives.

Job Title: Country Program Impact Lead

Location: Nigeria

The Opportunity

  • Reporting to the Impact Head, West Africa, Anglophone, the Country Program Impact Lead will oversee the Country Program’s impact workflow. Requirements

  • Master’s level or bachelor’s degree in international development, measurement & evaluation or thematic areas or special areas of interest to the Foundation from a recognized university.
  • Relevant professional qualification(s) and membership in professional bodies and national networks/authorities.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years relevant experience in a similar organization with three (3) years at supervisory level.
  • Experience working with the private and non-profit sectors, particularly in a role relating to National and Regional institutions in the relevant region and state and non-state actors in the field of Evaluation, Reviews, and Impact.
  • Experience in public policy, especially working with national institutions mandated to undertake planning, policy formulation and implementation.
  • Experience in research, evaluation, and learning, with demonstrated technical expertise in qualitative research methods, tool design, validation, and data analysis.
  • Experience navigating research protocols, review processes and management of big data with government and academic institutions.
  • Experience and familiarity leading the development of M&E policies nationally and supporting the implementation of same in national contexts, including experience in building the capacity of both state and non-state actors to function efficiently in the evaluation sector.
  • Experience applying various tech-enabled tools for data collection, analysis, reporting, and communication.
