Job Description

  • Our client is seeking a Category Lead to join their gold operation in West Africa.
  • The incumbent will collaborate with end-users and relevant functional departments, working under the guidance of a Category Manager, to create specifications, statements of work, performance metrics, tender documentation, and to draft and implement suitable contracts.
  • You will coordinate with the internal procurement team to deliver best value solutions for the project, manage the tender/supplier selection/contract award and implement process ensuring effective communication is maintained throughout.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyse data and market insights
  • Calculate Forecast Purchase Price Variance(PPV); research and analyse market data on key commodities
  • Search for insights into consumer needs
  • Calculate forecasts for product demand trends
  • Assist with upfront scope development, demand planning, market assessments, end to end tender process
  • Handle tender management and evaluation, contract negotiation and change management transition plans
  • Plan and implement long-term development strategies for product categories
  • Recommend and implement phase out strategies for slow mover products
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors
  • Manage and track allocated budget
  • Participate in the selection, development, and assessment of a supply base
  • Interface with key users, ensure effective visibility of the contracting strategy, and build strong working relationships with internal clients to meet operational and financial targets.
  • Interface with corporate and mine site-based operations teams to establish category management requirements from planning to execution.
  • Execute the supplier relationship management process including but not limited to tracking performance metrics, supplier safety record, fluctuating cost drivers and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure timely and professional service to end users in preparation for evaluation of commercial submissions received in an RFx.
  • To handle tendering, contracts and negotiation strategy, in line with Procurement Plans.
  • Achieve strong, collaborative, and sustainable relationships with key stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Work with end-users and relevant functional departments to develop specifications, statements of work, performance metrics, tender documentation and drafting appropriate contract terms & conditions.
  • Co-ordinate with internal procurement team to deliver best value solutions for Business Unit.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or appropriate discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of Strategic Sourcing Experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as category lead preferably in mining industry, Construction, Services or Heavy Plant related.
  • Hands on experience with analyzing big data and making forecasts.
  • French / English language skills is a must
  • Experience of working effectively in a senior management team environment.
  • Experience working in multicultural environment, preferably in West Africa.
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation and build effective relationships and networks.
  • Demonstrate strong conceptual skills and be capable of developing lateral and practical solutions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Master’s Degree in Business administration, Finance, Engineering, or any appropriate discipline.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Strategic Sourcing Experience.
  • Minimum of 8 year experience as category manager preferably in mining industry, Construction, services or Heavy Plant related.
  • Hands on experience with analysing big data and making forecasts.
  • Analytical and critical thinker.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across a variety of levels within an organisation.
  • French / English language skills is a must
  • Experience of working effectively in a senior management team environment.

  • Responsible for the overall development of the Diaspora and Expatriate Banking strategy, and delivery of all performance levers to meet the dynamic customer needs both in the diaspora and expatriates in Nigeria and ensure business growth.
  • Drive increased product adoption (cross-selling and upselling) and sustainable growth in customer base, customer retention, deposits, earnings, and usage of all bank products and services across the diaspora and expatriates customer base/segments.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the Liaison between the Diaspora customers and the bank to ensure growth of the business value chains and profitability in addition to maximizing the Bank’s revenue.
  • Develop and implement targeted business development strategies by anticipating developments, trends and opportunities within the diaspora banking business.
  • Drive market share expansion of the expatriate banking business through product channeling and value creation. Work with product managers to ensure customers’ feedback is considered in all new products and changes done to existing products
  • Actively participate in the development of budgets and target as they relate the diaspora and expatriate business and ensure achievement of monthly and annual targets.
  • Develop marketing and sales plan to achieve target for the department
  • Develop and Retain Key Customer Relationships In the diaspora and promote the diaspora Brand.
  • Drive the team’s product sales and performance (supervise marketing calls/road shows locally and internationally to drive business) and provide strategic direction focused on the continued growth and development of the banks presence and relationships
  • Provide  overall recommendations and performance reports to Senior management with regards to Products, Services, Processes and procedures that relate to Diaspora Banking business.
  • As part of the Bank’s Information Security requirements, maintain the security of all Information entrusted to the staff and comply with the principles and policies in the Information Security Handbook
