- The position also requires regular market research, participation in client meetings and events, and adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CFA, ACCA, ICAN) are an advantage.
- Relevant experience in relationship management, corporate banking, or financial services, preferably within a merchant or investment banking environment.
- Strong client relationship management skills, with the ability to build trust, understand business needs, and provide tailored financial solutions.
- Solid knowledge of corporate banking, investment banking, and global markets products, and the ability to explain these offerings clearly to clients.
- Analytical and financial modeling skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements, assess credit risk, and prepare high-quality proposals.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with strong attention to detail and professional writing ability.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
- Good understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance standards, and risk management practices in the Nigerian financial sector.

Job Summary
- Coronation Merchant Bank is seeking an experienced FX Dealer to join our Treasury team, executing foreign exchange transactions and managing currency risk in line with market opportunities and regulatory requirements.
What you’ll be involved in
- Executing spot, forward, and swap FX transactions for the Bank and clients
- Monitoring FX market trends, rates, and liquidity conditions in real time
- Managing the Bank’s FX trading positions within approved limits
- Pricing and quoting rates for corporate and institutional clients
- Ensuring compliance with CBN FX guidelines and internal risk/trading policies
- Building and maintaining relationships with counterparties, correspondent banks, and clients
- Collaborating with Treasury Sales, Risk, and Settlements teams on trade execution and reporting
What we’re looking for
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field
- 3+ years’ experience as an FX Dealer within a bank or financial institution

What you’ll own
- Macroeconomic research, forecasting, and analysis (Nigerian and global markets)
- Producing economic reports, market commentary, and thought leadership publications
- Advising Executive Management and the Board on macroeconomic trends and their business implications
- Monitoring fiscal and monetary policy developments and assessing impact on the Bank’s strategy
- Supporting Treasury, Investment Banking, and other business teams with economic insight for decision-making

What we’re looking for
- Advanced Degree in Economics, Finance, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
- 8+ years’ experience in economic research, ideally within banking, asset management, or a multilateral/policy institution
- Deep knowledge of the Nigerian economy, fiscal/monetary policy, and financial markets
- Strong track record of published research, market commentary, or public economic analysis
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, including media/public engagement experience
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capability.
