Egbin Power Plc, Lagos is one of the biggest additions to the electricity industry in Nigeria. Often seen as the biggest single generating power station in Sub-Saharan Africa, it was built to meet the every rising demand for electricity in Lagos and its environs.

Following the nation’s privatization exercise, Sahara, through its power division, Sahara Power Group and sundry affiliations, acquired the 1320 MW installed capacity Egbin Power Plant. We are working towards deploying a minimum of 5,000 MW of electricity generation over the next five years.

Job Title: Senior Engineer (Boiler Maintenence)

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervision of Maintenance Activities in the Boiler Section.

  • Preventive Maintenance Planning, Scheduling of Corrective Maintenance from Preventive Maintenance.
  • Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Management on the Enterprise Asset Management System (IBM Maximo).
  • Perform Overhauls, Major, and Minor Inspections of Boiler Pressure Parts and Valves
  • Plan and Monitor Overhauls Schedules of Boiler Systems to Achieve Improved Reliability and Prevent Schedule Overrun.
  • Conduct Safety Inspection as scheduled.
  • Conduct follow-ups on all repair work.
  • Responsible for Boiler Spares Planning, Purchase, Stocking and Requisition.
  • Ensure Adherence to QHSE Requirements in all Maintenance Activities.
  • Risk Assessment and Management of the Boiler Systems.

Education and Work Experience

  • Minimum of a First Degree (HND / BSc) in Mechanical / Production Engineering
  • Minimum of Five (10) Years of Work Experience with a Minimum of Three (3) Years supervisory level in Industrial/Power Generation Boiler/Turbine Systems
  • Membership of NATE, NSE, COREN will be an Added Advantage

Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience and working exposure to maintenance of BOP and auxiliaries
  • In-depth understanding of BOP operations.
  • Sound technical troubleshooting skills.

Job Description

  • The Senior Engineer (Balance of Plant) will be responsible for monitoring system performance, conducting routine inspections, troubleshooting issues, and implementing improvements to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carry out plant checks regularly to identify defects and carry out necessary repairs as applicable.

Education and Work Experience
Requirement:

  • Minimum of a First Degree (HND/BSc) in Mechanical/Production Engineering
  • Minimum of 7 Years of Work Experience with a Minimum of Three (3) Years on Industrial Size /Steam Turbine Power Generation Pumps, Fans, and Compressors.
  • Membership in NATE, NSE, and COREN will be an Added Advantage.
