The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) in collaboration with Bopinc and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands is launching the IITA Youth Agribusiness Training Program 2024.
IITA (International Institute of Tropical Agriculture) is guided by an ambitious strategy: to lift 11.5 million people out of poverty and revitalize 7.5 million hectares of agricultural land by 2020. We are a non-profit organization founded in 1967, governed by a board of directors and supported by several countries.
As one of 15 CGIAR Research Centres, a global partnership for a food secure future, IITA is engaged in several CGIAR Research Programs (CRPs). Our mission is to improve food security and livelihoods in Africa through Research for Development (R4D).
The IITA Youth in Agribusiness training aims to equip young people aged 18 to 35 with essential entrepreneurial skills, enabling them to either grow existing agribusiness businesses (accelerators) or launch into new agribusiness businesses (incubators).

IITA Graduate Training Programme 2024 Description:
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), in partnership with Bopinc and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, seeks to provide young people aged 18 to 35 with the entrepreneurial skills needed to grow existing agricultural businesses (accelerators ) or venture into agro-industry (incubators).
The partnership through the initiative – Youth in Agribusiness: Enabling scaling of innovative technologies for Sustainable Food Solutions (YAS) will provide participants with technical and business training.
Qualifications and Requirements:
This application is open to young people who want to explore and venture into agribusiness (incubators) and those who already own an agribusiness but need additional skills for expansion and growth of their business ( accelerators).

- Yam
- Poultry
- Cassava
- Maize
- Soybean
- Horticulture
- Groundnut
- Aquaculture
