Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job Description

• We are seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee all aspects of project cost management, contract administration, and commercial performance.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that our construction and infrastructure projects remain financially viable, providing accurate cost estimates, and managing project expenditure from inception to final account.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities (BOQ), and tender documentation for new projects.
• Monitor and manage project budgets, providing regular reports on variances and cost-to-complete projections.
• Conduct thorough cost-benefit analyses and value engineering to optimize project profitability.
• Administer construction contracts, ensuring full compliance with legal and organizational terms.
• Manage the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers, including the negotiation of rates and contractual terms.
• Handle the assessment and settlement of interim valuations and final accounts.
• Liaise closely with site managers and the engineering department to monitor progress against cost and time schedules.

Requirements

• Professional Membership: Mandatory: Valid registration with the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS).
• 8–10 years of professional experience in quantity surveying, with a focus on large-scale road construction and building infrastructure.

Technical Skills:

• Expertise in contract law (e.g., FIDIC, JCT).
• Advanced proficiency in cost estimation software and MS Excel.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering designs and technical drawings.
• Strong negotiation skills, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to maintain professional integrity when managing contractor relations.
