With the vast opportunities presented by increased capitalization for business expansion and growth, we became a Public Liability Company in 1991 when its Shares were admitted for the first time to the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) through listing by Introduction. We have grown considerably in size, business coverage, profits, capital base and assets with our operations spanning all classes of the Insurance and Special Risks business, high impact financial services and Real Estate managed by our subsidiary.
We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Head, Risk Management
Location: Nigeria
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a risk management framework and monitor risk maturity
- Develop, enhance, and maintain the company’s enterprise risk management processes for effective business operations
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders within the company in order to understand their business objectives and the distinct risks to achieving these objectives.
- Stay abreast of internal and external developments that may impact the Group’s risk profile and make internal changes as appropriate.
- Plan and facilitate risk workshops to help the business identify its principal risks.
- Produce high-quality Executive and Board-level risk reports
- Assist with the assessment of the Group’s principal risks and other risk-related content for the Group’s Annual Report and Accounts.
- Provide advice on how to ensure risks are properly identified and evaluated, and appropriate controls are built in.
- Periodic assessment of adherence to risk management procedures
- Establishing and quantifying the organization’s ‘risk appetite’, i.e., the level of risk we are prepared to accept;
- Corporate governance involves external risk reporting to stakeholders.
- Carrying out processes to limit risks and prepare for if things go wrong;
- Conducting audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors.
Requirements
- Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, or related
- 10+ years risk experience, 3+ in senior roles
- Knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Insurance Sector
- Thorough understanding of the Nigerian business economy
- Good managerial/administrative

Job Title: Head, Internal Audit
Location: Nigeria

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full audit cycle and comply with all applicable directives and regulations
- Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
- Obtain,analyze, and evaluate all document compliance
- Prepare and present reports that reflect the audit’s results and document the process
- Act as an objective source of independent advice to EXCO
- Identify loopholes and recommend risk aversion measures and cost savings

- Engage in continuous knowledge development
- Coordinate team to ensure the highest quality audits – from planning to reporting

- Develop innovative and cost-effective audit techniques
- Promote the highest standards of ethics and standards across the organization based on the principles of integrity, objectivity, competence, and confidentiality.
- Maintain the highest technical and professional standards
Requirements
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related (ACA/ACCA/ICAN)
- 10+ years audit experience, 3+ in top management
- A broad background in risk and Insurance
- Experience in Nigerian Corporate Governance requirements and risk-based audit methodologies
- Self-starter, motivated, enthusiastic, and has excellent collaboration skills;
- Diverse internal audit experience in Insurance or Financial services;
- Experience of working independently on internal audit reviews as well as in a team environment
- In-depth knowledge of financial management and accounting
- Thorough understanding of tax, VAT, and pensions compliance
- Strong analytical skills.

- Change management ability
- Strong decision-making
- Time management priority setting
- Advance skills in integrated accounting systems and MS Office.
