Job Title: Customer Support Officer

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Our client is seeking a Customer Support Officer to  manage all customer communication from order confirmation to final delivery, ensuring clarity, reassurance, timely resolution, and a consistently high-quality customer experience.
  • The Customer Support Officer serves as the primary point of contact between the company and its customers. This role handles inquiries, complaints, delivery coordination, and post-purchase communication while maintaining accurate records and safeguarding brand trust.

Key Responsibilities
Customer Communication:

  • Provide accurate product information and real-time order status updates

Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries via:

  • Instagram and other social media DMs
  • Email
  • Phone calls

Assist customers with:

  • Order placement
  • Order modifications
  • Address corrections
  • Delivery clarifications

Order & Delivery Coordination:

  • Communicate with last-mile delivery partners to resolve delays or delivery issues
  • Proactively communicate with customers from dispatch through final delivery

Liaise with the Fulfilment Admin and operations team to confirm:

  • Dispatch status
  • Delivery timelines

Issue Resolution:

  • Handle customer complaints calmly, professionally, and efficiently
  • Escalate unresolved, complex, or sensitive issues when required
  • Ensure all complaints are properly documented and followed through to resolution

Sales & Retention:

  • Identify opportunities to upsell or recommend relevant products during customer interactions
  • Close sales where appropriate while maintaining a polite, non-pushy approach
  • Uphold brand tone and customer trust at all times

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Submit accurate end-of-day reports

Maintain daily customer support logs, including:

  • Number of inquiries handled
  • Complaints received and resolved
  • Pending issues
  • Sales conversions from support interactions

Qualifications
Educational & Professional Requirements:

  • Minimum of OND in any discipline
  • HND or Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage
  • Previous experience in customer service, call center operations, retail, or online support is an advantage
  • Experience handling phone calls, chats, emails, or social media customer interactions is a plus
  • Familiarity with Instagram DM handling via Meta Business Suite is desirable
  • Must have access to a laptop and be comfortable working online.

Legal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for drafting a wide variety of legal agreements.

  • Compiling, and preparing reports, presentations and correspondence.
  • Draft, design, and print letters, documents after executive review and approval.
  • Record and prepare meeting minutes.
  • Implementing and maintaining procedures/administrative systems.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Manage complex office administrative work requiring the use of independent judgment and initiative.

Event Management:

  • Organizing the director’s personal commitments.
  • Ensure all meetings are fully organized.
  • Notifying the executive of major events, conferences, and workshops locally and internationally.

Liaison:

  • Control access to the executive
  • Follow-up with staff and clients
  • Screen all incoming phone calls, inquiries, visitors, and correspondence, and route accordingly
  • Perform as a liaison between the executive and household staff
  • Represent the executive in meetings when unavailable.

Record Keeping & Scheduling:

  • Record the weekly schedule of the Executive.
  • Manage the calendar and schedule appointments.
  • Record notes and messages for the Executive.
  • Notify the executive of important tasks and deadlines.
  • Managing diaries and organizing meetings.
  • Managing databases and filing systems.
  • Organize, schedule, and advise on conferences or training for the executive, on the local and international level.

Management & Research:

  • Conducting research on behalf of the MD
  • Taking the lead on strategic initiatives important for business growth.
  • Creating business proposals.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree
  • Possession of L.LB
  • Minimum of 3 years working experience
  • Knowledge of Commercial Law
  • Experience in the maritime industry is added advantage
  • Exceptional attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous projects and priorities at once.
  • Positive and service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and sometimes high-pressure environment
