Job Title: Head of Investment and Trade Facilitation – W2A Capital Lead
Location:Â Abuja (FCT)

Job Summary
- As the Head of Investment and Trade Facilitation – W2A Capital Lead (Pre-Incorporation), you will lead investor engagement, capital mobilization, and the setup of W2A Capital.
- Your role is critical in turning investor interest into fundable deals, securing donor commitments, and designing the fund’s governance and operational structure ultimately positioning you to become the Founding Managing Director.
- This is a unique opportunity to build and lead Africa’s next major impact investment platform.
Key Responsibilities
Investor Engagement & Deal Structuring:
- Grow and manage the W2A Investors Club, converting interest into real capital commitments
- Lead transaction structuring and closure across agriculture, energy, solid minerals, and maritime sectors
- Match investor interests with verified, investment-ready pipelines
Capital Mobilisation & Donor Relations:
- Build relationships with donors, DFIs, philanthropic partners, and other capital providers
- Design and implement blended finance models that effectively combine diaspora, donor, and commercial capital
- Represent W2A credibly at donor roundtables, investor forums, and high-level convenings
Trade & Investment Alignment:
- Ensure that trade facilitation events lead to practical investment outcomes
- Use events and convenings as pipelines for credible deals, not just networking
W2A Capital Pre-Incorporation:
- Lead the legal, regulatory, and governance setup of W2A Capital
- Establish investment committees, advisory boards, and risk/compliance systems
- Draft fund documents, investment policies, and onboarding protocols for anchor investors
Internal Reporting & Leadership:
- Report to the Founder & CEO and Senior Lead, Strategic Finance & Group Operations on success, progress and bottlenecks.
- Serve as a strategic bridge between the organization’s vision, its partners, and transaction-level realities
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in investment banking, development finance, blended finance, or fund structuring
- Proven ability to secure partnerships with donors, DFIs
- Deep understanding of fund governance, compliance, and investment operations
- Strong experience with transaction structuring and capital mobilisation in emerging markets
- Familiarity with investment committee design, governance systems, and fund launch processes
- Excellent relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
- Passion for using capital and trade as tools for sustainable development in Africa
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to represent W2A externally.

Job Title: Internal Control & Compliance Officer

Summary
- As part of our governance, commitments and Board directive, we are urgently seeking to recruit an Internal Control & Compliance Officer to institutionalize robust financial and control systems.
- This role is critical in ensuring financial integrity, transparency, and compliance across all arms of W2A — operations, trade, capital, and donor programs.
Key Responsibilities
Internal Control & Risk Management:
- Establish, implement, and maintain comprehensive internal control frameworks, policies, and SOPs.
- Regularly review and strengthen processes to minimize risks, fraud, and financial irregularities.
- Conduct periodic control checks and internal reviews across all business units.
- Provide assurance on compliance with both internal and external financial regulations.
Liquidity & Cashflow Oversight:
- Monitor and forecast liquidity to ensure obligations are met on time.
- Track real-time inflows and outflows, flagging risks of shortfalls or leakages.
- Develop and enforce cashflow reporting templates across departments.
- Provide early warning signals and risk alerts to senior management.
Fund Segregation & Allocation:
- Enforce strict rules around segregation of funds for operations, trade, capital, and donor programs.
- Monitor disbursements to ensure alignment with approved budgets and allocations.
- Ensure donor and investor funds are managed according to contractual or regulatory guidelines.
Financial Record-Keeping & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate, complete, and auditable financial records.
- Consolidate and present timely reports on liquidity, cashflow, and compliance to senior leadership and the Board.
- Support donor, investor, and regulatory audits with accurate data and reporting packs.
Compliance & Regulatory Monitoring:
- Ensure timely filings and payments of statutory obligations such as PAYE, VAT, pensions, and other regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulators to maintain compliance standing.
- Implement monitoring mechanisms to track compliance in real-time.
Requirements
Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CISA (or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Experience:
- 3–5 years’ progressive experience in audit, internal control, treasury, liquidity, or compliance functions.
- Proven track record in designing or enforcing cashflow management and fund segregation systems.
- Prior experience in investment, trade facilitation, donor-funded, or financial services organizations will be an added advantage.
