Job Title: Safety Engineer
Location: Nigeria

Job Responsibilities
- Support the OSL to actively lead Company HSE awareness and initiative schemes, ensure compliance/application with all relevant Statutory and Company HSE standards on the operations site.
- Assist the OSL in the implementation and maintenance of the health, safety and environment standards established by the Corporate HSE entity as applies to the Fields Operations and in compliance with the Referential.
- Participate in direct HSE studies and risk assessments undertaken for the design of installations and the execution of operations when the need arises.
- Participate and drive Events CTA analysis and Incidents investigation. Reporting and follow up actions close out as required.
- Attend risk assessment sessions, control and monitor implementation of HSE Risk management procedure during preparation of works and operations.
- Participate in HAZIDS, HAZOPS, Project Technical Reviews
- Evaluate incident/accident/near-miss statistics and indices of JV operations HSE performance and feedback experience.
- Verify timely reporting of all reportable incidents and accidents to the regulatory bodies through the district HSE division.
- Organize and participate in audits of installations and operations, check on their conformity to Company reference documents.
- Follow up actions from Audits, sites visit, HSECOMS, REX etc. as may be required.
- Identify training needs and check on the level of HSE training of asset personnel (company and contractor).
- Training of personnel on various HSE programs and tools such as HSE inductions-permit, etc.
- Define HSE material Specification requirements, procure required HSE materials and Equipment for site operations and check on the availability and the equipment maintenance.
- Support the OSL in ensuring the effective management of site activity and plant Integrity matters in liaison with the Integrity Manager as required.
- Support definition and analysis of Operations HSE topics/activities (e.g. Downgraded Situations, inhibition, PTW, SIMOPS etc.) as required.
- Assist the OSL in acting as daily interface for contractors and follow up on contractors’ performance as required.
- Organize and implement HSE Site visits and participate in HSECOMS.
- Support the planning and implementation of Operations sites ISO audits.
- Participate in site operations Emergency Preparedness and implementation as required including drafting of Emergency procedures and guidelines
Context and Environment
- Office-based with frequent site visits and hierarchically attached to the Operations Safety Leader (OSL, JV FO)
- Oil and gas production facilities located onshore/offshore.
- Strong interface with other entities in the JV Field Operations, Technical Services and Corporate HSE divisions.
- Aging facilities with numerous integrity issues.
- Modification works, upgrade and simultaneous operations (production & drilling) on the installations.
Accountabilities
- Support in ensuring/facilitating the use of risk management tools/technique viz HAZID, HAZOP, FERA, QRA in the Asset operations.
- Support in ensuring/facilitating HSE audits (pre-start-up, facility, etc.), co-ordinate management facility inspection visits and DPR facilities inspections.
- Adviser to Field Operations incident Board of Enquiry.
- HSE advisor of major projects development teams in Field operations.
- Support in Defining the HSE training needs within the Field operations.
- Attend and facilitate the holding of Asset management HSE meetings.
HSE Objectives
- Familiarize self with Company’s emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
- Carry out assigned responsibilities safely and initiate the closure of any reported incident, unsafe act or condition.
- Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.
Qualifications / Experience Required
- Qualification: HND / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
- Professional Experience (number of years): Minimum of 7 years’ experience in various facets of the petroleum industry, with at least 3 years in health, safety and environment position.
- Knowledge of oil and gas operations. Good knowledge of national/international regulatory standards.
- Technical competencies to include minimum of 3 years as Team Leader in Site Production Operations, 2 years as HSE supervisor.
- Sound communication and coordination ability.

Job Title: Junior Maintenance Technician – Engine
Location: Offshore, Port-Harcourt, Rivers (FPSO)

Job Summary
- The JMTE will assist senior technicians in maintaining and repairing engines, performing routine diagnostics, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols, while documenting findings and maintaining tools.

- MCR or Engine watches as required by the MSUP.
- Machinery operation, maintenance, bunkering, and other technical and safety work as required by the MSUP or SMTE.
Special Responsibilities:
- To be fully familiar with rules, regulations and work procedures applicable to the assigned task or to be executed under his responsibility.
- Responsible for the routine surveillance of equipment and installations specifically assigned to him.
- Responsible for carrying out routine safety checks on equipment as required by the MSUP.
- Be familiar with the PTW System.
Certfifcate Training:
- Officer in Charge of an engineering watch unlimited certificate, STCW 95 – Ref. III/1.
Professional Qualifications
- Must have completed combined workshop skills training and an approved seagoing service of not less than 12 months as part of an approved training programme which includes onboard training that meets the requirement of section A-III/1 of the STCW Code and is documented in an approved training record book, or otherwise have completed combined workshop skills training and an approved seagoing service of not less than 36 months of which not less than 30 months shall be seagoing service in the engine department;
- Must have performed in the capacity of a 3rd Engineer on tanker vessels, during the required seagoing service, engine room watch-keeping duties under the supervision of the chief engineer or a qualified engineer officer for a period of not less than 6 months.
- Experience on FSO or FPSO is an added advantage.
- Have completed approved education and training and meets the standards of competence specified in section A-III/1 of the STCW code.
- Meet the standard of competence specified in section A-VI/1 paragraph 2, section A-VI/2 paragraphs 1 to 4, section A-VI/3 paragraphs 1 to 4 and section A-VI/4 paragraphs 1 to 3 of the STCW Code.
- Very good English written and spoken.
