Job Title: Engineering Manager – Team Lead

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the engineering administrative function, directing and consulting several groups engaged in interrelated engineering responsibilities
  • Plan and manage the execution of the multi-discipline FEED/Conceptual Design Studies & EPC engineering in both local and affiliated international offices
  • Preparation and administration of design budgets, estimates, forecasts and schedules.
  • Be responsible for the timeliness and technical correctness of all works performed by the Engineering Team
  • Technical Integrity – take responsibility for the technical integrity of the team, addressing working methods, tools, quality assurance, peer reviews, communication with team members on other projects.
  • Work closely with consultants, vendors, and contractors to ensure seamless coordination and timely project execution.
  • Manage value improvement processes
  • Set strategic goals and objectives for teams in the engineering department in alignment with the company’s overall strategic vision
  • Monitor team performance and project progress in and take proactive measures to address any issues or risks
  • Manage third party consultants/specialists
  • Ensure all design engineering activities meet or exceed engineering standards with regard to quality, cost, safety and performance
  • Quality Assurance – Responsible for working within the provisions and guidelines of the Quality Assurance system including utilizing the corporate Project Management systems
  • Safety – Responsible for personal safety and adherence to safe working practices for the Oil & Gas Business Unit. Understand and follow OH&S procedures

Essential Skills / Experience

  • B.Sc. Eng. (Mech., Chem., Civil, Electrical.) from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 20 years’ experience in Close-Out Audit for a Refinery or Petrochemical Industry
  • Must have experience in oil & gas, refinery, or petrochemical industry.
  • Must have experience in related designation / specialty.
  • Must have a proven track record of managing multiple projects in Design & Engineering in the oil and gas industry
  • NSE/COREN is a must.

Document Preparation:

  • Prepare and edit documents, reports, and presentations.
  • Maintain office forms and templates.
  • Photocopy, scan, and fax documents as needed

Office Supplies and Equipment:

  • Monitor and order office supplies, ensuring stock levels are maintained.
  • Maintain office equipment and arrange for repairs when necessary.
  • Coordinate with vendors for office-related purchases and services.
  • Data Entry and Information Management
  • Input data into spreadsheets, databases, and other software systems.
  • Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, such as processing invoices and tracking expenses.

General Office Duties:

  • Ensures the coordination of the office environment’s cleanliness and organization
  • Assist with the onboarding of new employees, including preparing workspaces and providing orientation materials.
  • Perform other clerical duties as assigned by management.

Requirements
Qualification:

  • HND or B.Sc, in any related field.

Experience:

  • At least 4 year experience as an office administrative assistant.

Required Skills:

  • Must have excellent skills with MS office applications (Word, Excel & Power Point) with very good typing skills.
  • Must be very Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Very good communication skills.

  • Construction planning and monitoring (schedule, cost control and compliance of executed works with project technical specifications)
  • Timeliness and accuracy of construction works execution
  • Technical quality of project constructability reviews and construction projects plan review
  • Specialists support visits on site organization
  • Daily, weekly and monthly construction reports
  • Close-out report preparation
  • Work progress certification
  • Preparation of third-party’s authorities site visits and audits
  • Identification and adoption of correct HSEQ standards according to company standards and local norms and legislation
  • Managing contractors (including construction work troubleshooting), and suppliers
  • Managing construction site supervisors.

Skills and Requirements

  • Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in the Oil and Gas industry, in both onshore and/or offshore facilities
  • Minimum 20 years’ experience in Close-Out Audit for a Refinery or Petrochemical Industry
  • Significant experience in construction, including planning, mechanical, civil and electrical/instrumental activities
  • Fluent in English. French desired
  • Excellent management skills
  • Organisation & planning, problem solving and negotiation skills.
