We are recruiting to fill the position below:
Job Title: Shipping Operations Officer
Location: Nigeria
Job Type: Full time
Job Purpose
- To ensure the safe and efficient operation of Company vessels in accordance with IMS principles.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Issue instructions to vessels regarding day-to-day operation.
- Advise the Masters of the vessel’s charter contract terms.
- Issue and send voyage instructions to the Masters.
- Liaise with chartering brokers and charterers and provide all necessary documents required for trading clearance.
- Assist in defending claims brought against owners by charterers, cargo interests and other third parties.
- Check in with all stakeholders on the loading/ discharging plans for all vessels.
- Follow up with voyages at all stages and ensure that vessel’s performance is in accordance with the C/P terms and the company’s standards.
- Ensure that all cargo documents are received promptly and processed accordingly by providing necessary instructions to the Master/Agents for proper endorsement.
- Arrange the supply of bunkers, spares, consumables, fresh water, etc to the vessels.
- Monitor prompt delivery of vessel’s provisions and stores to avoid vessel’s delay.
- Monitor all operational aspects of assigned vessel operation including navigation, cargo/ballast handling, safety and environmental protection, etc.to ensure that these are carried out in compliance with the company’s requirements for an efficient, competitive and customer focused operation in compliance with prevailing International and Flag State legislation.
- Monitor all actions required to restore any possible discrepancy in vessel’s performance and ensure that these actions are properly taken.
- Instruct agents to handle vessels’ business whilst in port.
- Coordinate with the department on matters related to cargo nature, tanks cleaning, safe navigation, loading/discharging plans, cargo loss control etc.
- Coordinate with the accounts department for funds required for operations and cash disbursements to the vessel.
- Comply with the IMS procedures and requirements and demonstrate commitment to safety and environmental excellence by your behavior.
- Ensure the safe and environmentally sound operation of the vessels.
- Coordinate with the technical department in relation to the vessels’ performance, any technical issues arising as well as third-party inspection issues.
- Participate in the briefing and de-briefing of master’s and deck Officers before and after appointment, as per the IMS relevantprocedures.
Requirements
Education / Experience:
- Shipping Academy graduate, recognized by National Authorities or a degree from an Institution of higher education.
- Working knowledge of the English language.
- A well-established and proven record of work experience in related fields.
- Minimum of 5 years in a similar role.
Skills:
- Proven work experience as an Operations Coordinator or similar role
- Good time management, prioritization, and multitasking abilities
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with colleagues
- Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening
- Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work for extended hours when required
- Possess good communication skills (oral and written)
- Proficient with Microsoft office suite
- Good analytical skill.

Job Title: Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP), Retail

Job Purpose
- To align HR strategies with the overall business objectives for the Retail Business unit.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Act as the primary HR contact for the Retail Business Unit, aligning HR strategies with business goals.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field.
- HR professional certification (CIPM, SHRM-CP, PHRi/SPHRi).
- A Masters’ degree will be an advantage.
- 5 – 6 years’ experience in an HR generalist role.
- Extensive knowledge of HR best practices.
- Ability to work in a multicultural team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of change management and stakeholder management.
- Excellent listening, interviewing and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools especially Excel.

Job Title: Technical Superintendent of Shipping
Location: Nigeria
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Attend to vessels at ports of call and periodically sail on them, to ascertain the technical condition, performance and repairs required.
- Periodically sail with vessels to solve technical problems aboard and develop trouble-shooting methodologies and procedures.
- Control and monitor the lube-oil and bunker quality onboard as well as the vessels consumption rate.
- Prepare / review purchase order request, considering requirements of Class Society, Planned Maintenance System reports, deck, tank and machinery condition reports, defect reports, Master and C/E’s reports, Port State and International legislation, etc.
- Obtain and evaluate repair quotations, select repair companies and location of the repairs, based on the “best quality of works” / “cost” relation, considering ship’s itinerary and charter party obligations.
- Attend to delivery of new acquisitions to ensure that supplies meet requested specifications.
- Monitor the efficient and timely supply of all spares required for the proper maintenance and safe operation of the vessels.
- Monitor the levels of ships spares in store and ensure that requisitions and made timely to prevent shortages.
- As the Technical Superintendent, the position requires that you take the vessel for dry docking.
- Plan and execute maintenance and repair activities for the vessel’s technical systems, including propulsion, power generation, navigation, safety equipment, etc.
- Coordinate with shipyards, contractors, and suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective repairs and upgrades.
- Monitor the vessel’s condition through regular inspections, audits and surveys.
- Stay abreast of international and local regulations related to maritime safety, security, and environmental protection.
- Ensure that the vessel complies with all applicable rules and standards set by classification societies, flag state, and port authorities.
- Develop and manage budgets for planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
- Optimize cost-effectiveness without compromising safety and quality.
- Promote and enforce a strong safety culture onboard and within the technical department.
- Implement and monitor environmental protection measures in line with industry standards and regulations.
- Maintain effective communication with vessel crew, port authorities, and internal stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments, including operations, crewing, and purchasing, to ensure seamless operations.
- Partake in the assessment of engine room crew during recruitment.
- Develop and implement emergency response plans for technical failures or incidents.
- Provide technical support and guidance during emergencies.
- Carry out other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- A graduate of Marine Engineering.
- Must have sailed as a Chief or Second Engineer of medium range tankers.
- Previous experience as a Technical Superintendent, preferably with medium-range white product tankers.
- In-depth knowledge of vessel operations, and international maritime regulations, flag state requirements, etc.
- Knowledge of Ship Management, International Covention Regulation, ISM Code, ISPS Code is required.
- Strong project management and budgeting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced maritime environment.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite.
