Vagan Oil & Gas Limited is a Nigerian Private Limited liability Company registered under the Companies Acts of 1990, In line with the policies of the Nigerian service provision. The company core area of operation is to provide a broad spectrum of services ranging from Engineering, Pipeline & Flowline Construction / Repairs, Facility piping and maintenance, Wellhead & Christmas tree maintenance and servicing, Composite wrap technology, Equipment & Offshore/Marine Supplies etc.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Instrument (PACO) Engineer, Maintenance – Tunu Node

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full Time

Job Qualifications
Academics:

  • OND Minimum

Work Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years as Instrumentation Technician in Oil and Gas industry with experience in Crude oil separation and Gas dehydration.
  • Tunu node (Tunu, Ogbotobo, Opukushi and Benisede) SSAGS commissioning experience considered as added advantage.
  • Familiarity or experience in SPDC Twister dehydration technology in Tunu shall be considered added advantage

Skills:

  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on Delta V DCS (Emerson) systems.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on Twister gas dehydration technology.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on Solar Turbines (Taurus 60, Centaur 40, and Mars 100) and Engines (Waukesha, Caterpillar etc)
  • Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining instrumentation systems on
  • Cameron/Howden/Siemens compressors
  • Experience in various process control valves and ESD valves systems maintenance
  • Experience in Fire and Gas detection (Honeywell point and open path gas detectors, smoke detectors, Spectrex flame detectors etc) and suppression system maintenance (Turbine enclosure CO2 suppression system)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Alarm management and rationalization experience.
  • Experience in Safeguarding systems maintenance
  • Experience in Oil, NAG and AG facilities operations
  • Soft Skills (Added advantage)
  • Perform basic computer related activities.
  • Knowledge of worksite hazard mgt and permit to work systems.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Communication & teamworking.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good organizational skills

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Ensure performance assurance and proactive health checks of the associated components of the PAS, SIS and Fire & Gas Systems (Point Gas Detector).
  • Ensure periodic health checks on Human Machine Interface workstations and Servers. Systems fault diagnosis and recovery.
  • Access and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID); Cause and Effects
  • Matrix (C&E); Process Flow Scheme (PFS); Functional Logic Diagram (FLD); Instrument
  • Loop Drawings (ILD) and Process Engineering Flow Scheme (PEFS) required for fault tracing and issues resolutions.
  • Work closely with service Contractor(s) towards safe delivery of vendor-based maintenance jobs.
  • Initiate and follow up with spares procurement towards expedited delivery for maintenance execution.
  • Ensure technical integrity of assets through Preventive and Corrective Maintenance activities, quality assurance and performance standard verification of safety critical equipment
  • Technically support Operations personnel towards plant safe operations.
  • Ensure field instrumentation availability and reliability towards meeting business targets on hydrocarbon processing and export operations.
  • Maintain Systems availability for the continuous operation of the Flow station and AGG facilities
  • Identifying critical spares and follow-up ordering and delivery.
  • Integrate with other disciplines to achieve Asset integrity on continuous basis.
  • Promotes site safety and continuous hazard identification, mitigation and close-out.
  • Other assignments for continuous improvements as exigent.

Work Cycle

  • The work location is Swamp-field based accessible via the Helicopter and Boat.
  • The job activity period is daily on 12-hour (7am to7pm) routine over a 21-day period.
  • There is a standard 3weeks on and 3weeks off schedule.
  • The successful candidate will manage their own absences with his/her contractor for suitable qualified covers.
  • There may be a need for periodic visits to Shell industrial area for trainings and official assignments.
  • Personnel may be required to work extended hours as need may arise.

Job Description

  • The Project Manager is expected to lead the planning of project activities, including the development of execution plans, the allocation of resources, the utilization of assets and materials, the preparation of sub-contracting strategies, the assessment of man-hour required for the entire project life span.

Responsibilities

  • Analyses tender and contractual documents in order to review scope of work and schedule and to identify project requirements and constraints.
  • Preparation of project budget/cost estimate of project management, constructions and services, including staff, manpower, construction equipment/consumables and subcontracts.
  • Assist the business development team in the selection of the reference sub-contract quotation to be included in the bid cost estimate.
  • Follow up interfaces among engineering, procurement, construction, Quality and HSE.
  • Managing change orders, claims and technical queries.
  • Coordinating the invoicing activity.
  • Review purchase requisitions in line with technical and commercial evaluations within his field of competence.
  • Ensure materials and equipment availability for project
  • Coordinate the technical close-out of the projects.

  • Conducts post project closures, final reports and lesson learnt.

Engineering activity planning:

  • Capability to plan discipline engineering activities and documentation deliverables in order to meet projects schedule milestones considering design workflows and engineering interfaces with all other project disciplines and functions capability to manage dynamic changes due to endogenous and exogenous factors.

Engineering standard codes and regulations for resolution of nonconformity:

  • Knowledge of main engineering standard Codes and Regulations in order to support and manage the resolution of Engineering Non-Conformity (NCR) at site supporting construction and / or Fabrication activities effectively interfacing project Team, Client and Vendors

Erection sequences and production methodologies:

  • Knowledge of erection sequence and production methodologies in order to minimize HSE Hard (working at height, working in confined spaces, etc) duration of activities in respect of time and cost constrains

Fabrication and installation techniques:

  • Familiarity with fabrication and installation techniques in order to ensure effective inter-function relationship- interpret project requirements- correctly defined the quality and timing of engineering deliverables, correctly define the required corrective actions and updating of engineering deliverable to support fabrication at site.

Personnel coordination:

  • Capacity to define team members overall roles and responsibilities and enhance individual skills ensuring the best performance of the team in order to achieve the objectives.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Liaise with the TMC and Finance Team to ensure quality assurance checks on all travel and financial reports.
  • Invoice Processing and Request Management for Travel-related activities.
  • Liaise with Logistics, HSE and other ancillary service providers for E2E service delivery
  • Administer Travels Share point site for content storage, quality, and revision control.
  • Manage archiving of files as required and ensure files are tagged and records kept up to date.
  • Process and record all customer responses on travel satisfaction surveys to support travel improvement initiatives and store in SharePoint.
  • Assist with service entries for Hotels and Travel invoices.
  • Accountable for all the data required for performance evaluation and business planning in overseas travel allowances space.
  • Attend Integrated Activity Plan (IAP), MRP Meetings with Team Lead.
  • Carryout annual budget proposal/planning and monthly budget performance review and report status.
  • Responsible for archiving all departmental documents and reports in the approved company’s record system.
  • Responsible for preparing and submitting periodical performance reports on Oversea Travel Allowances for the department.
  • Collect, analyze, interpret, and summarize data in preparation for the generation of statistical and analytical reports and provide intelligence that supports decision-making.
  • Engage Finance team and provide data necessary for the day-to-day operations in Overseas Travel Allowance space.
  • Work in collaboration with Finance Team in managing the work preparation to ensure the payment of Overseas Travel Allowances and refund of pre-travel cost within Travel KPIs.
  • Responsible for travel bookings and allowances accuracy are in line with company policy.
  • The correct account is charged, and duration of stay/itinerary is in line with Travel policy.
  • Accountable for OTA FI with supporting documentation and forward same to Vendor Services Unit.

Challenges:

  • Identifying gaps/errors in travel or travel related reports.
  • Maintaining knowledge of system developments and providing data integrity.
  • Interfacing with various areas of the business to deliver on the Travel strategy.
  • Handle multiple project responsibilities; deal with a considerable degree of complexity and interdependency management.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of work experience – Experience in Oil & Gas/ Services a plus
  • Technology Platforms (Added advantage)
  • Experience with MS Office (PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and others)
  • Experience in SAP Application not compulsory but an added advantage.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills essential.
