The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) leads international efforts to end hunger and achieve food security for all and ensure that people have regular access to high-quality food for lead an active, healthy life. With more than 195 members, FAO works in more than 130 countries around the world. We believe that everyone can play a role in ending hunger.
FAO’s Regular Volunteer Program enables individuals to contribute through their voluntary actions, where relevant, to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and FAO’s Strategic Framework to support the 2030 Agenda through transformation towards MORE efficient, inclusive, resilient and sustainable agriculture. food systems for better production, better nutrition, a better environment and better lives, leaving no one behind.
The program proactively and strategically mobilizes many of its member citizen volunteers to help end hunger, malnutrition and food insecurity.

The volunteer will report to a designated supervisor.

The volunteer will be assigned to an area relevant to FAO’s mission and work.
Duties and responsibilities
The volunteer will perform the functions specified in the terms of reference (TOR) prepared by the employment office.
Minimum requirements
• Must have completed high school.
• Working knowledge of at least one FAO language (English, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, French or Russian). Knowledge of another FAO language will be considered an asset.
• Be a citizen of FAO members.
• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Applicants must be able to adapt to an international multicultural environment and have good communication skills.
