Job Summary

• Our ideal Radio News Presenter is a journalist who has passion for delivering quality news  and current affairs content with dedication for journalistic integrity.
• She/he should have the ability to provide objective and balanced reporting, and can deliver accurate, timely, and engaging news content to our radio station’s audience.
• You will be responsible for researching, writing, and presenting news stories, as well as reporting on current events, local news, national/international affairs, and other relevant topics.

Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities are:

• To gather, verify, present and analyze  news stories from various sources, including wire services, press releases, interviews, and online platforms.
• Conduct objective and balanced  interviews on a wide range of topics with a myriad of people including politicians, business leaders, labour leaders,  civil society, experts, regular Nigerians and many other  stakeholders
• Craft well-structured news scripts that are concise, clear, and engaging, adhering to the station’s style and guidelines.
• Anchor programs in a compelling manner, maintaining a professional and confident tone while conveying information accurately and concisely.
• Conduct research on current events, political developments, cultural trends, and other news topics to ensure comprehensive and informed reporting.
• Operate radio studio equipment, including microphones, soundboards, and broadcasting software, to ensure smooth on-air presentation.
• Be prepared to respond quickly and professionally to breaking news situations, delivering real-time updates to the audience.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in reporting, ensuring accuracy, fairness, and impartiality in all news coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or a related field
• A minimum of 3- 5 years of experience

Responsibilities

• To identify the biggest stories of the day in Nigeria, pitch ideas and source for appropriate resource persons to tell stories effectively and cover all angles.
• To identify and generate quality interviews based on happenings in our areas of primary focus, Nigeria and the African continent.
• To research and gather information to create compelling content that aligns with the target audience and station’s format.
• Plan and organize production schedules, book guests, and coordinate with on-air talent and technical staff.
• Record and edit  both audio and video content when needed .
• Operate studio equipment and handle any technical issues that may arise during live broadcasts.
• Direct on-air talent during live broadcasts, guiding them on content, timing, tone, and delivery to maintain a cohesive and engaging show.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or a related field

Responsibilities

• Revenue generation by meeting and exceeding revenue targets from selling the stations advertising package, sponsorship and other promotional opportunities.
• Constantly seek new revenue streams and explore innovative advertising solutions.
• Conduct market research by staying updated on industry trends, market conditions and business landscape to gather information that will be used to identify new opportunities and adjust sales strategies accordingly.
• Budget management – Develope and manage the sales and marketing budget through allocation of resources and monitoring expenses to ensure a positive return on investment.
• Identify and establish strategic partnerships with local businesses, events, and community organizations.
• Manage  relationships  with existing and new  clients to ensure the fulfilment of contractual obligations and  client satisfaction thereby ensuring returning  business.
• Work with the News and Editorial team to create compelling on-air experiences for listeners.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Marketing, Management or related field etc.
• Knowledge of the media industry
• Proven experience in marketing, preferably within the radio broadcasting industry

• Familiarity with radio programming and content is a plus
