Job Title: School Nurse

Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Position Overview

  • We are seeking a seasoned, certified, and compassionate School Nurse to oversee the daily operation of our on-campus sickbay.
  • The ideal candidate will be proactive, attentive, and capable of providing immediate medical attention, routine health care, and health education to our sixth-form students and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the school sickbay, ensuring it is clean, well-stocked, and equipped for first aid and minor treatments.
  • Provide first-line medical care for students and staff who are ill or injured on campus.
  • Administer prescribed medications and maintain up-to-date medical records and logs.
  • Monitor and manage chronic conditions, allergies, and students with special medical needs.
  • Refer serious cases to hospitals/clinics and follow up as needed.
  • Liaise with parents/guardians regarding students’ health concerns.
  • Promote and conduct regular health screenings, health education, and wellness programs.
  • Collaborate with school leadership on health-related policies, emergencies, and safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with national school health guidelines and maintain confidentiality.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
  • 3–5 years’ experience in nursing practice; prior experience in a school, clinic, or adolescent health setting is preferred.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or First Aid is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to relate to teenagers with empathy and professionalism.
  • Proficient in maintaining accurate medical records and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, remain calm under pressure, and respond quickly in emergencies.
  • Good organisational, communication, and administrative skills.

Preferred Candidates:

  • Availability for occasional weekend or after-hours emergencies may be required
  • Attaching your license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) is an added advantage.

Salary
N100,000 – N120,000 per month. (commensurate with qualifications and experience).

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook meals according to the school menu, ensuring variety, taste, and nutritional balance.
