The Confederation of African Football (CAF) was founded in 1957 by four nations: Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and South Africa. As the administrative body of the region, CAF manages competitions, offers technical and administrative training courses while actively fostering the promotion and practice of football. The Confederation organizes championships such as the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN or AFCON), the most popular competition. It maintains very close links with FIFA in coordinating tournaments for different events such as the World Cup, Youth and Women competitions and the Olympic Games Football Tournaments.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Senior Procurement Category Manager – Events & Competitions

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the procurement category for CAF competitions, events, and Member Association.
  • Oversee the tender process for sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting for:
    • Tournament operations.
    • Match and team logistics.
    • Security arrangements and safety requirements.
    • Hospitality services and VIP/Protocol arrangements.
    • Event support services and equipment.
    • Member Association Operational needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with CAF’s procurement policies, governance standards, and financial regulations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to guarantee high-quality service delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with the Competitions Member Association, Events, Safety & Security and Finance teams to define procurement requirements and delivery timelines.
  • Develop category strategies, cost-saving initiatives, and performance improvement plans.
  • Monitor supplier performance, service-level agreements, and contractual compliance throughout event cycles.
  • Contribute to risk assessment, contingency planning, and operational readiness for all CAF events.
  • Support continuous improvement of procurement processes and information systems.

Requirements (Profile)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM, PMP) are an asset.
  • 7–10 years of procurement experience, ideally in events, sports, or large-scale operations.
  • Strong expertise in supplier management, contracting, and category strategy development.
  • Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (French or Arabic) is a plus.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to CAF’s values.

Job Title: Procurement Manager – IT / Digital & Sports Equipment

Location: Cairo, Egypt

Responsibilities

  • The Procurement Manager – IT/Digital & Sports Equipment will lead and manage procurement activities related to IT systems, software, licenses, digital platforms, technology infrastructure, Referee and technical football development procurement solutions.
  • This role will ensure strategic sourcing, cost-effective purchasing, quality assurance, and compliance with CAF policies and international standards.
  • Lead end-to-end procurement processes for IT systems, software solutions, licenses, and digital platforms.
  • Coordinate procurement for Referee and technical football development departments, officiating tools, and all match and referee equipment requirements.
  • Develop and implement category strategies aligned with CAF’s digital transformation and technical football purchases.
  • Conduct market research and vendor evaluations to identify reliable and innovative suppliers.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements to ensure value for money.
  • Establish supplier performance metrics and manage vendor relationships for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with CAF procurement procedures, financial guidelines, and audit standards.
  • Collaborate with IT, Digital, Referee, Technology, Competitions, and Refereeing departments to forecast needs and deliver timely solutions.
  • Support inventory planning, asset management, and lifecycle oversight for technology and equipment.
  • Prepare reports, procurement plans, and budget analyses for senior management.

Requirements (Profile)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain management, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPM, PMP) are an asset.
  • 5–7 years of experience in procurement, with at least 3 years in technology or sports-related procurement.
  • Strong vendor-management skills and a deep understanding of the digital and sporting environment.
  • Experience with sports equipment procurement or sports organizations is a strong advantage.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, digital platforms, and technology licensing models.
  • Excellent negotiation, contract-management, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken; command of any of the other CAF official languages (French or Arabic) is a plus.
  • Strong strategic sourcing and vendor-management capabilities.
  • Detail-oriented with high standards of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and cross-department collaboration.
