Golden Oil Industries Limited was incorporated in Nigeria on 8th September, 1988, and has grown into a household name in Nigeria’s edible oil’s industry. The company’s focus is to provide healthy oil as a cooking medium to its customers. The company is Nigeria’s trusted name for supply of refined palm oil, palm kernel oil, olein, soybean Oil, stearin, soybean meal, soy lecithin, and palm kernel de-oiled cake. Our oils are used as healthy cooking medium. Soybean meal and palm kernel de-oiled cake are used in premier poultry / animal feed.

The company’s products have been duly certified by the appropriate regulatory agencies Such as the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON) and National Environmental Standards and Regulations Enforcement Agency (NESREA). Golden Oil has modern processing technology and plants, which can be compared to worldwide standards. The company has highly trained seasoned oil experts, who’s commitment is to delivering healthy oil to Nigerian consumers.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Civil Engineer

Location: Delta
Employment Type: Full Time

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop project plans, specifications, estimates and scope of work.
  • Execute project plans
  • Conduct site investigations and analyze survey reports
  • Manage construction activities, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure quality and safety
  • Prepare project schedules, cost and ensure its within the budget
  • Work with process, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers
  • Oversee soil testing to establish soil strength and the feasibility of the building
  • Prepare progress reports and documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree/HND in Civil engineering, construction or project management
  • Minimum of three years progressive experience in civil engineering work/project management and site development
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Knowledge of building codes, regulations, and standards
  • Ability to read structural analysis and design
  • Understanding of construction methods and materials
  • Time management and organization
  • Attention to detail and quality control
  • Good Reporting skills
  • Adaptability and flexibility
  • Team player.

  • You will play a crucial role in upholding high-quality standards while efficiently managing the reception process.

The key result areas of this role are:

  • Ensure the reliability of silo equipment by conducting regular maintenance and minimizing breakdowns.
  • Ensure the reliable and efficient operation of equipment and machinery through proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure timely and efficient reception of soya beans.
  • Manage waste generated during the reception process effectively
  • Adherence to housekeeping standards and GMP guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Soya Beans Reception: Oversee the reception of incoming soya beans. Inspect the quality and quantity of the beans to ensure they meet the specified standards before acceptance.
  • Quality Control: Implement and enforce GMP principles during the reception process. Conduct regular quality checks on incoming soya beans. Address any quality issues promptly and document necessary corrective actions.
  • Storage and Inventory Management: Safely store received soya beans in designated areas. Implement proper inventory management techniques to prevent spoilage and ensure the freshness of raw materials.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain equipment used in the reception process, such as conveyors, elevators, and cleaning machinery. Conduct regular checks to ensure equipment is functioning optimally.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance and repairs on silo machinery, ensuring optimal functionality. Troubleshoot issues and conduct necessary repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Develop and follow a preventive maintenance schedule for all silo equipment. Conduct routine inspections and identify potential issues before they escalate.
  • Effective Waste Management: Manage waste generated during the reception process effectively, minimizing environmental impact and ensuring compliance with waste management regulations
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of received soya beans, including quantities, quality assessments, and supplier information. Prepare detailed reports for quality control and inventory management purposes.

The Person

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Additional technical certifications or vocational training in maintenance, agriculture, food science, or related fields is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the agricultural or food processing industry is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers. Effective communication skills to coordinate with different teams.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and mentor team members, delegate tasks effectively, and resolve conflicts.
  • Keen attention to detail and ability to identify equipment issues accurately. Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, and problem-solving skills to identify issues, develop innovative solutions, and implement process improvements.
