Job Title: Accountant

Location: Nigeria
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • Oversee the Bank’s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Manage the Bank’s accounting systems, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations including CBN and NDIC guidelines.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulators during inspections and audits.
  • Monitor cash flow, investment portfolios, and asset-liability positions.
  • Ensure robust internal control systems and risk management frameworks are in place.
  • Provide timely and strategic financial advice to the MD/CEO and Board.
  • Supervise and develop the Finance & Accounts team to enhance performance and productivity.
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures in line with industry best practices.
  • Handle tax and statutory matters, including PAYE, VAT, and WHT remittances.
  • Perform other tasks as may be assigned by the MD/ CEO.

Qualifications

  • B.Sc. or HND in Accounting, Finance, or related fields from a recognized institution.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Finance & Accounts department of a Microfinance Bank, with at least 2 years served as Head of the department.
  • Professional certification (ICAN/ACCA) is required. Must have passed at least some papers at the ICAN or ACCA professional stage.
  • Completion of the CIBN Microfinance Certification Program will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of BankOne banking software is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.

N147,000 – N187,000 per month.

Job Title: Loan Manager

Locations: Nigeria

Job Summary

  • The Loan Manager will oversee the company’s credit and loan operations, ensuring effective deposit mobilization, quality risk asset creation, and excellent service delivery.
  • The role involves supervising credit officers, driving branch-level performance, building and maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulatory standards.
  • With 5–8 years of relevant experience, the Loan Manager is expected to bring leadership, strategic insight, and operational discipline.
  • Successful performance in this role positions the candidate for appointment as a Branch Manager after one year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise credit officers in executing the company’s credit and marketing strategies.
  • Drive deposit mobilization and ensure achievement of set financial and operational targets.
  • Oversee the appraisal, approval process (within limits), and documentation of loan applications to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the loan portfolio, proactively manage risks, and ensure effective recovery strategies to minimize default.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, especially with high-value customers.
  • Conduct periodic market and competitor analysis to support strategic decision-making.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job training for credit officers to strengthen staff capacity.
  • Champion excellent customer service delivery and promote a performance-driven culture.
  • Participate in periodic planning, budget sessions, and branch performance reviews.
  • Prepare regular reports on loan performance, customer feedback, and market intelligence for management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Banking & Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or related fields. A Master’s degree or professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CFA, CIBN) is an added advantage.
  • 5–8 years of relevant work experience in microfinance, commercial banking, or financial services (with at least 3 years in a supervisory role).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Proven track record in loan portfolio management, credit risk assessment, and deposit mobilization.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with core banking applications.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct.
