Job Title: Independent Agency Manager

Job Description
- Overseeing and coordinating the work of their agency, coordinating with external clients, and hiring, training, and managing employees
- Agency managers often work as freelancers or are employed as employees.
- Increase revenue, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations.
- Meeting with clientele to discuss existing policies and recommend changes as needed
- Reviewing new claims and providing feedback to adjusters regarding coverage, claim status, and next steps
- Negotiating with insurance companies on behalf of clients to ensure fair settlements for claims
- Overseeing the processing of applications for new policies and claims on existing policies
- Conducting research on laws and regulations regarding insurance policies, claims, and coverage options
- Providing customer service by answering questions about coverage, billing, payment options, and claims status
- Monitoring the financial performance of an insurance business to ensure that it meets or exceeds internal goals
- Helping clients select appropriate insurance coverage for their needs based on their risk tolerance and available funds
- Determining which coverage options are most appropriate for each client based on their specific needs, preferences, and budget constraints
- Communication: Communication is the act of conveying information through speech or writing. As an insurance agency manager, you may need to communicate with clients, coworkers and other business representatives. Effective communication can help you convey your ideas and intentions to others, which can help you build stronger relationships and improve your performance.

- Maintain and manage relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance.
- Researching and recommending new opportunities, profit and service improvements.
- Monitor sales activities, product needs, and service requirements.
- Proven experience in sales and managing customer relationships.
Requirements
- University Degree and HND, a Postgraduate Degree will be an added advantage
- At least 3 years’ experience in the Financial services, insurance industry.
- Ability to build a sales team to achieve or exceed sales target.
- Must have excellent presentation and communication skills.
- Proficient in using basic computer applications (e.g. Microsoft suite, word, excel etc)
- Should have a passion for Sales & Business set up
- Must possess a strong combination of sales and relationship management skills.

Job Description
- This role assists the Broker Consultant in ensuring that the broker market is serviced at all times. The incumbent is individually accountable for achieving results through own efforts.
- Develops and implements a sales marketing and support plan for all brokers.
- Builds and maintains sustainable relationships with all contracted brokers in designated portfolio.
- Analyses the sales product mix in order to react to trends and ensure profitable growth of the portfolio.
- Manages the relationship between Old Mutual and brokers and ensures maximum growth of the portfolio.
- Researches competitor offerings and makes recommendations.
- Reacts to market trends and competitor initiatives to ensure sustainable growth.
- Supports and advises on all product-related aspects of all Old Mutual products to Brokers.

- Receives requests for quotations from brokers and makes alterations to existing business.
- Supports and advises on all product-related aspects of products to Brokers.
- Ensures that Old Mutual and product providers understand Broker’s product and marketing needs.
Relationship Building:
- Builds and maintains sustainable relationships with all contracted brokers in designated portfolio.
- Convinces brokers to sell Old Mutual products and services.
Qualifications and Experience
- A First Degree or its equivalent
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent sales and marketing skills
- Interpersonal relationship and time management skills
- Good knowledge of MS packages (Especially MS Word, MS Excel and Outlook)
- 5 years experience in Sales, preferably in the Insurance or Financial services sector.
